  1. Haha no wonder she is a pig to drive Get a decent diff and feel how much straighter she drives and how much more pressure it puts on your tail bone when she starts putting the power down.... Absolute next mod for ya shopping cart mate
  2. Response isnt too bad probably a tad laggier than a GT3076 in all honesty but i find it feels a bit peakier than the 76 when it comes on though. But the E85 makes it so much stronger EVERYWHERE and full boost is 3700rpm in 4th gear. But down lower in 2nd its frying the tyres at bout 3800-4000rpm then it frys 3rd instantly for a bit then the ass end feels all floaty and squirmy till 4th gear lol! I was running 98 and made 288kw tuned down to 278kw on 21psi plus boost leaks then swapped to E85. What sort of diff you running?
  3. +1 to E85 and more boost! my motor is stock along with the standard manifold and im making 336rwkw on E85 with a GTX3071 so the 76 on E85 would make 350kw easily. By the sounds of it you need to spend some money on suspension and drivetrain if you are getting terrible traction at the power you are making now as my car doesnt spin wheels that much with my power...........Except when Jez drives my car lol! I wouldnt of thought flowing your standard headers would of given more power but would surely help boost come on bit better i would think
  4. I believe the blitz units are just BC coilovers + more $$$ My old man has just installed a set of BC coilovers in his 33 GTR and from the factory setup i can tell you it feels HEAPS better he got the 6 & 8kg spring rates and they feel quite good on shitty western sydney roads (not too harsh) and in the tight stuff it feels like a completely different car. Yet to see their reliability but certainly at this stage they seem like a great value for money setup
  5. Id expect a minimum of 10% power increase overall and anywhere up to 40+kw increase through your midrange
  6. Can i ask why you only plan to run 17psi?? I dont know much bout FJ's but i run 850cc injectors and a single tomei in tank pump and 25psi boost with a 3071 on a stock 25 and im making good power! A built FJ should cop more than 17psi?? A 3040 will only be just starting to open its lungs at 17psi! if you gotta upsize your fuel system why not quench its thirst for E85 within the turbos limit? Seems crazy to me that you are gunna spend good money on a fuel system and not unlock the full potential of the turbo E85 absorbs water i dont know if it goes off as such.... Probably should of mentioned more oil changes too from E85 as ethanol tends to dilute oil faster or possibly running a heavier oil may or may not solve that problem. My personal experience with E85 has been a good experience
  7. Lol thanks for pointing out the obvious ARTZ i dont know of any disadvantages of E85 in a street car apart from the fuel consumption increasing and the lack of places to fuel up With a good tune your fuel increase should be around the 10-15% zone as my consumption stood at 420-450km max per tank of 98 in city driving and now im at bout 380-400 out of a tank of Eflex and at average its bout 30- 35c a litre cheaper than premo anyways almost evens things out. Except when it comes to the power department of course [ quote name=ARTZ' timestamp='1333262217' post='6298851] Captain obvious strikes again I think everybody here knows tuning will be needed to make e85 work mate..what Mick was saying is you don't need to crank a heap more boost for extra power and that he infact gained power dropping the boost..so yes he has gained by just swapping fuel and of course retuning for that fuel...
  8. No gain by switching fuel alone?!! I picked up almost 40rwkw by swapping fuel alone with 4-5psi less boost! I didnt notice any turbo response gains in my case but the midrange power increase is epic and off boost driving feels noticebly more rapid with more torque plus the sweet smell and lack of soot coming outta the back end are all good things. But i definately agree with zeeb run E85 and wind the boost into it and love it! [quoe name=zebra' timestamp='1333186279' post='6298115] No gain by just switching fuel More boost and timing will be needed to make more power You will often find it will be a little laggier with E85 or it might go the otherway, each engine/tuner seems to report different results Go E85 and wind 28psi into the thing and you will love it
  9. 11's will be nice......Good luck and may the boost be with you I will be watching this spot for a time slip closely
  10. Good luck mate what sorta time you aiming for ? 12.?
  11. Nice results scotty well done mate Thats a huge torque i bet it pulls harder than a 14yo with a playboy magazine! Lol Im curious to know how much torque my car produces id also like to see how the same turbo feels on a different motor Our power figures are .4 kw difference but you do have an auto and 1.06 rear housing yeah?
  12. The rb25 ecu is not Nistune compatible for some reason you can use an rb20 ecu or Z32 but the z32 is the pick as it will still control the VCT
  13. I have 850cc injectors and a tomei pump and making 336rwkw and my injectors are at 80% duty cycle with 25psi
  14. My economy on E85 is pretty close to what it used to be on 98 as i only go for a blast here and there in my car as its not a daily driver.. Last tank of juice i got 410km with the fuel light on at 400km. Was spewing last week though E85 was $1.33 a litre most ive ever paid!
  15. My Gt4 celica done exactly the same thing Pulled the air filter line off the turbo cos my car wouldnt rev and was blowing smoke like a mofo soon as the pipe came off i heard PING and something metallic hitting the ground my heart sank as i thought it was the compressor wheel or something fatal but was the chrome centre outta my dodgey pod filter lol
  16. I got a stock turbo 110000km on it in Sydney $200 removed for upgrade vgc
  17. +1 i didnt notice any gain from my cam gear install
  18. Mmmm yes coopers sparkling ale solves all my problems and is definately worth the $$$ haha
  19. Wouldnt worry bout the sound if it drives good mate ive found the stock turbo induction noise to be quite loud. Ive gotta Garrett Gtx3071 on my car and i was bit pissed like you initially as you can barely hear my turbo compared to the stockie and its a 560hp turbo lol! But enjoy the stealth sound mate as it doesnt attract the wrong attention
  20. What mods are done to it? So when you are saying it leans out is it pinging its head off? Is it over boosting and the factory ecu is going into limp mode??? Was it doing this before with the microtech?
  21. im keen but its a big drive and im on E85
  22. im with you marko i cant see how a particular clutch can kill a gearbox its all bout mechanical sympathy imo you flog the ring outta your car and shit will happen regardless of clutch type its just the nature of the beast! My car has a Jim berry standard modified clutch which made 3100lb of clamp feels as light as the standard clutch and is handling 336rwkw fine i drive hard but i dont flog the ass outta my car though and from my personal experience with jimmies clutches its felt better than ANY other clutch hands down from the weight of the pedal to how it bites on take off its a very user friendly clutch indeed
  23. I paid $2000 delivered for R34 GTR seats front and rear in perfect condition mate so they are a little pricey
  24. Probably hard to tell from that pic but the wastegate line comes in at bout 45 degrees which i dont think is too bad but it still seems to flow alright and makes good power so im a happy man haha
