Gojira, actually no...Nova is the easiest way to get your foot in the door...you just need to be a native speaker...and no offence to those working at Nova. But it's because of this I don't see their teachers (not those who are qualified or graduates) as having any benefit to the students to be honest. Course there are some who genuinely make an effort but everyone is only here to visit/play or import a car!

duck and lamb is considered low on the food chain preference for the Japanese so you will not see many of those cuisine. Pity because I miss those...mum's cooking a lamb roast! IIRC the order of preference, 1st Seafood 2nd Chicken 3rd Beef 4th Pork and 5th...etc everything else. If you like cooking shows then there are heaps shown overs here as well as restaurant recommendations...I actually do enjoy wactching the cooking shows .

Diesel is being phased out for passenger cars due to emission, so it is incorrect to say they are not readily used. Nearly every make and model there is a diesel version. Which is why my exporters like a mate is making a killing sending luxury diesel cars especially 270D back to UK and other european countries Though it is largely used by commercial vehicles, which will still be available for a little longer before they all change to fuel cell. Brian, correct so does the bluebird, sunny, crew...etc...

Yes his german suxs but his irish is quite something...wtf but your german right! Justin, come along when I get the car tuned and get it dynoed. informer, yes that is a GT-R which belongs to a friend who sadly no longer owns...and yes I own an Evo...so will someone else too soon :D.
-
Justin mate...yes your car has a fair bit of grunt, but please don't be like the kids claiming victory when the other driver (me) wasn't even racing properly. Again do I have to remind you the road was merging left and if I had not backed off you were bound to plow straight into the cars waiting to turn right. Regarding the quality of the finish...yes it was very very good. I have a older cousin in the smash repair business which I have spend a substantial time helping back in my younger years and I can tell the difference between a quality work/paint/finish!

yukio, yeah I happened to catch that truck drifing...very impressed!
-
Justin, because you have cable...we don't. Option TV, I think I know which one your talking about. Saw it once only it's...pretty ghey. Boon ain't too bad but since it's sponsored by Honda everything is Honda, Honda, Honda. Only thing decent is F1 or MotoGP.

get pissed where? :bonk: isn't the legal drinking age in Japan 20yo but you'll be right heaps of vending machines around and they hardly check gaijin's ID at clubs

dave read this http://mdn.mainichi.co.jp/news/20041101p2a...0dm006000c.html funny thing is they will do this to show they are enforcing the new law but after a month or so they won't care plus 7000yen ain't that much but no doubt it will go up.
-
huh...evade and when they catch you, you could be up deportation my friend...not just 300,000yen and a suspended license. Under the old law i.e. the old smell test, they would let you go as long as they judged you still competent to drive...which was not accurate. Furthermore under the old law they were basically not catching anyone as such!
-
what has this got to do with me...unless REDFC is a chick! or brings some chicks with him
-
i read this earlier in the year, a few things have changed...but the most important one you should note is 60,000yen to 300,000yen fine for drink driving!

Maybe, but I highly doubt it...as I said it's all about class driving a LHD car. Which is why there are a few importers who brought LHD Lexus back into the country, used to be popular 5-6years ago but it's a Celsior/Lexus and the JDM Celisor has more features! Also it really doesn't bother Japan, most of the places have LHD and RHD parking lot ticket machines, though sometimes there are none and you can have a good laugh at the Ferrari or Porsche driver having to get out and walk to the right side to pick up the parking lot ticket .
-
99.9% of the exotics cars like lambos, ferraris, porsches etc is imported in as LHD...only very very very few have been brought in as RHD. LHD is considered more classy and exclusive for the rich and famous! Also if there were many RHD, you'd have seen an influx of exotics being imported to Aust ages ago and I wouldn't even bother buying any Japanese car over here even if it was a GT-R...a used 355 is not out of anyone's reach! European cars available sold RHD by dealers are mainly Mercs, BMWs, Volvos etc (passenger cars) but the numbers imported are only about 10% RHD. I've been hunting for a C36, C43 or C55 for ages and have confirmed there are some RHDs in the country but no one bloody wants to let go of one...they inturn look to be more exclusive me think!

Having looked at he V35 Skylines for almost 2 years now, it starts to grow on you. The current kits available don't make it look as sporty because it retains the centre bracket on the front bar, but still looks sporty. If people think the V35 doesn't look agressive enough I'm sure someone or MASA will soon have a Z33 front conversion for the next GT-R But I highly doubt the face will look agressive. However you have to remember the GT-R is not to be sold to every Tom, Dick and Harry. At a supercar price tag only the older generation will be able to afford this, and they like to blend style with power....thoughts of Aston Martin!

I have and I have also driven that same toppo too The toppo I drove was in bright purple paint, was my alarm installers work car and had every alarm brand sticker across the rear window...only time I felt like a ricer. It was an auto and they seem to have good power IMO. Near the workshop (Shin-Osaka) there are alot of hills, I managed to get a good 20-30cm air over the crest hehehe...they are so dam light and chuckable. Was the one you tested a turbo version, not that it makes much of a difference? I have also driven two kei trucks from Honda oh and a kei work van...Sambar something.

and only in Japan... When I used to see all these groovy stuff, I thought I wanted one but after awhile you realise you don't...this was when the Gundum ones came out.

Yes and please note the monthly meeting will be held on the weekend of the Nismo Festival over in Okayama. I'm considering hiring a E51 El Grand from Nissan Red Stage for the drive over. Your attendance is required gentlemen. ...(seriously no shit, will be big enough for us to all crash out for the night).
-
so it's probably cheaper to transfer the current GT-R running gear and RB26 into a Z and be done with it
-
Great writeup I'm also glad you had such a great time, too bad you couldn't have stayed longer and looked around more...next perhaps.

I was going to say they look like Enkei RC5, but not quite.

overcast day over here in Kansai ...looked like late afternoon or UK weather at 10am this morning.
