  1. E-W are always FF bias...and dare I say it's where the Evo holds it's advantage. Along with the 4WD and AYC she rides on rails. Most cars are setup to understeer, it is generally consider easier to correct than oversteer. By instinct your reaction under slide is to lift off the throttle and hit the brakes, which will transfer weight to the front end and increase traction there. Thus helps recover and correct understeer. The same thing in an oversteering car will usually make the situation worse by unloading the rear tires and further reducing their traction.
  2. Originally Brisbane, moved to Sydney. If your in Sydney I'll take you for a ride .
  3. What...I have nothing to do with Justin converting, but he will be once he takes a ride after I get the Evo back from the tune. People should not see the Evo as a GT-R competitor as both cars are obviously different i.e. engine capacity is different and practical space etc...even though the Evo smacks the GT-R silly around the track. The Evo should be seen as the GT-R if it were built with a 2000cc 4cyl engine. The Evo makes alot of sense for people who don't need a big 6 or feel the need to for hugh horsepower. The 4G63 is much older than the RB26 and it's still being used, internals are tough as nails and if ever the need to make hugh horsepower she's very capable. From the buyers point of view, the best bang for buck! Justin knows how much I've spent on the car, almost nothing as all the parts on the Evo are rated over 400ps...with stock turbo and injectors, just add boost = 410ps+. The Evo7 4G63 pushes the unopen block limit to 500ps. Again stock as a rock!...slap on a GT3037 and add boost, just under 500ps! Not to mention the factory turbo TD05 will handle 1.7 bars and not shatter and who gives you a 9sec factory gearbox . note: @flywheel.
  4. Grant, I'm Australian. I won't know how it feels to be home for good until I finally get home but I'm looking forward to it . However Justin reckons I'll be back soon once I get my first defect or speeding ticket ...argh! Touch wood! In another thread, I've metioned I may be home for only a week . Another job has come up to head overseas again.
  5. hahaha...didn't you also mention the Evo a while back... edit: not a word from me Dam you boys...should have bought one earlier so we can go crusing!
  6. The Dark side! Fear teh Evo...muhahaha!
  7. But you all know why I'm really leaving...it's to get away from Justin While you all LOVE him to death, Justin is actually...erm
  8. LOL...thanks guys... 1st thing I'll do once I land is kiss the ground! 2nd thing I'll do is grab a meat pie! 3rd thing I'll do is call my mates to meet at the pub! 4th...dunno yet...but I'm sure it will come to me ... It'll be great, mum will pamper me with so much home cooking and I'll be happy to jump on the ride on mower to do the lawns for dad. As for re-adjusting...Aust doesn't change much , except for the nazi road rules and regulations! Dave, the Evo is coming home . Too bad you didn't get a chance for a ride. But do not fear another Evo may emerge soon . Aust better be ready for the Silver beast, unleash...look out for it at a circuit near you ... Actually the first thing I hope to hear is welcome home!!! Funny thing happened the last time I went home...how do you know who's a tourist? While getting off the plane there was a stewardess greeting all the passengers...either Konichiwa or welcome to Australia. But I was surprised when I was greeted with Welcome home Sir! Wow how did she know? Did I have such a grin or relief on my face to be home. Those who live overseas for a extended period of time will notice these small things and realise how special it is to come home. I know it's not the same Japan is home too. It would be lie if I did not miss the place even for all the troubles I've had. 1/6 of my life is living in Japan, arriving way back in 1999 as a young 24yo, I can still remember the day I touched down and had NFI where I was or who was going to pick me up. Then I see a little Japanese fella holding up a sign Mitsubishi Electric Aust. Mr. Lee. The years have indeed passed by fast, and it's now almost 2005.
  9. Dave...couldn't have put it better myself. Originally I was brought in to "westernise their thinking"...no f**king way, their seniority = superiority always over powers any thing you contribute in a positive way. Again I mentioned in another thread English Teaching jobs is the only jobs which will keep you happy. Gave my farewell speech today, being polite I gave the usual speech of thanks blah blah... Translated by Kacho: Troy has been working for 5 years for us and been an invaluable employee...it is sad to see him leave us. He is returning to the Australian office and will still often return to Japan on business trips. He is also returning to get married and settle down to have a family. As you can see the underlined sentence is made to look like I'm not leaving the company completely...and where did that marriage part come from :uhh: Justin, dyno day changed to tomorrow 12pm Takatsuki...can you make it? Going home thread, indeed we haven't had one of those have we...with so many going to Japan threads.
  10. IG, Rail engineer - Train Information System engineering. The onboard CPU for JR trains and Shinkansen, also fitted to MTRC and KCRC (HK), SMRT (Singapore) TRTS (Taiwan), SMG (Korea), DMRC (India) etc. Like tuning a CPU for a car but thesee CPUs are customised to control all onboard system like the traction motors, brakes, doors, air con, passenger information systems etc. Takes about 6 months minimum to iron out the bugs on a new metro train and a little longer on a shinkansen.
  11. Tis is a toughie I know, and I may just do it...one last overseas contract. Guys I'm just tired, all work and no play makes jack a dull boy. Plus age is catching up, 30 next year . IG, Rail engineer - Train Information System engineering. Onboard CPU for metros and high speed trains, like tuning a CPU for a car but these CPUs are customised to control all onboard system like the traction motors, brakes, doors, air con, passenger information systems etc. The CPUs are fitted to 80% of JR trains and Shinkansens...in Asia - MTRC and KCRC (HK), SMRT (Singapore), TRTS (Taiwan), SMG (Korea), DMRC (India) etc. I'm in Japan because the design office is in Japan, Osaka.
  12. Soon 28th December just after Xmas, so it's my last Xmas in Japan so all you bros from kanto get over here for a massive night out! New Years is in Aust . Leaving after Xmas to ensure I sort everything out before I leave. I'll be taking it easy, a much needed well earned rest. Indeed it will take a while to adjust back but shouldn't take too long. After about three months is what a mate from Sweden said after he got home. In Japan a gaijin is a star and can have any chick he desires , but once you go home settling back into your own culture. Who do you think you are? Just one of them...reality kicks in lol! But I'm not gonna breath a sigh of relief just yet! Got a call last weekend for another contract in Taiwan for the new high speed line due open in 2006 running a Japanese Shinkansen. As you may have heard it's the first time a Japanese high speed train has been exported, and they want it run perfect, not that it wouldn't based on the reliability in Japan. However the test schdule is tighter then Justin's R32! Employer want me to start end of this month...WTF not even a week back home, you nazi's bastards!!! Still not decided, as I just feel it's time to go home you know the feeling...even if the money is very good.
  13. Are you absolutely sure about that? If you are your wrong! PS. The Autech BCNR33 sedan is not really an offical Nissan factory production car.
  14. LOL...and buying Japanese animation on DVD with English subtitles...WTF, why would they need to make any. As I was telling Justin the other day, when I was younger and back in uni. I never once wished to work in Japan nor the thought. Dam company transferred me here, for what was suppose to be a 1 year project turned into over 5 years! I barely had a life left after the first year, working over 240 hours a month. But I'm finally going home...and hooray to that
  15. hehehe...Dave you know much about the country side my friend...and that is a compliment! Topi, don't worry I'm not talking about you mate, from your Japan diary I can see you've taken the time to mingle much with the locals and have also experienced a big ass typhoon!
  16. I agree...travelling by trains is far better easier and less hassle, but some prefer cars. Just don't complain about the traffic. When on holidays, take it easy...rushing is just shit and not a holiday. Some mates have done the whole of Japan or rather all the major cities from Hokkaido to Kyushu...in a 14 day rail pass. Big time culture shock! Only after processing the photos and taking the time to look back through them, did anything make sense. When your in Japan for the first time there is so much to absorb, it's worth the time to think, understand and enjoy! Else you leave and think having been to Japan once you know it all...thus projecting misconception! Then coming on here and spout out in the Japan section, which is the reason why none of us J-guys no give a f**k no more because there are so many so call Japan experts now!
  17. I believe my business partners and I are already doing so . Setting up a business is not difficult due to the revision of the 1yen company. However after 3 years you have to pay the true registration cost...which is frightening expensive but if you look at it over a course of 3 years it's not so bad and you should be making money before then else I'd fold up quick smart and leave the country  I'd also look into company tax as well. A Limited company intial startup is expensive that's all. Regarding visiting the shops, is it necessary...because if your only after parts your better off ordering them instead of running around. Come to Japan to visit, not running around and finally find you actually saw Jack instead of Jill...when someone asks you how was Japan? PR huh...try 10years before you can apply PR.

    Option Market

LOL...no worries, else Justin is still around .

    Option Market

Well none of us live in Tokyo, because all the action is over this way On a serious note, it should be good as it's a parts show if I'm not mistaken...and no RQs!
  20. mmmhhh dunno...maybe I've been here too long and I see these cars everyday. I like the M35 much much more than a C34, obviously being newer and better equipt makes the C34 very dated, no offence guys. The M35 suits me to the ground, yeah old man talking here...if I hadn't focused so much on the Evo I should have send her home ages ago and now be driving a M35 to the snowfield . M35 Series 2 is already out and scheduled body revision is expected end of next year or early 2006.
  21. doesn't the C34 already look like a Volvo
  22. Told yah need to get out to the big smoke more often Dave, search for VQ25DET Stagea...also Series 2 now offers a VQ35DE powered model. http://history.nissan.co.jp/STAGEA/M35/0110/index.html Press Release 2001/10/16 http://www.nissan-global.com/JP/STORY/0,12...Y-MC109,00.html
  23. LOL...suddenly I'm getting so many PMs. I like the GT30 series, plenty of potential should you need more.
