  1. whatever his budget is set at, expect that to blow out by a minimum of 25%
  2. super steve - not sure if u have seen my build thread but i made mention of gregs head which was used in the superlap winner for 2010 sun cyber evo from japan! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pr...html&st=360 (refer to post no. 373) oh and btw paul is easily pleased with a box of coopers red lol!
  3. is ben still running racepace? apparently not
  4. well crd, red r racing or racepace would be my only other choices - either way, u are on the right page
  5. greg @ proengines built my donk, great guy, great service & great price
  6. when i bought my 1st big bike in 99, i bought an r1 off a guy who had a bad reputation & the number plates were very well known as i found out after the 1st week when i was riding to my mates house...i had 6 highway patrol cars on my tail for 10min, rode to my mates house & they all jumped out & surrounded me, until i took my helmet off they calmed down off & strongly suggested "change your plates otherwise you will be pulled up every time" i thought i bought a hot bike...geez! moral of the story, the new plate worked for 5yrs
  7. maybe u should consider changing your number plates? with the automatic scanning machines they use your car will be black booked
  8. where did u get pulled, what suburb? was it an rta vehicle or highway patrol? nothing worse than getting ar5e raped! this is why i should get an eng. certificate for my gtr...in the 90s i had a gemini with a 2ltr twin cam & got pulled up, simply gave him my report in the glove box & i was off on my way (the police copper was burning). i also kept my eng. report in the car when i had my dato 1600 with fj20t - also got pulled up & said to the officer "its legal" with the biggest grin on my face.
  9. will be interesting to see what power it makes on aust fuel. who is tuning it for you?
  10. sorry nick hrr hrrm...i think u have mistaken me for 1 of your greek mates n1's break & nitto's dont sadly, that is the difference, oh & the nitto runs a billet gear
  11. NITTO OIL PUMP i switched from n1 to nitto
  12. hi guys, just a quick note which might help others - i am getting fuel fumes in the car which is only slight & i decided to drop into earls @ silverwater for their opinion...i am running an 044 in tank & 2 external 044's with a surge tank in the boot space. the fuel hose i am using is rated @ 300psi, however, the only way to get rid of the scent is to run teflon coated fuel hose which earls stock @ $30p/metre just another mod i need to do to my car i should also add that fuel hose without teflon coating actually permeates through the membrane which makes sense as you can actually smell the fuel on the line itself. earls also explained that i wouldn't get this smell if i ran 91 or 95 ron pump fuel but with 98ron it has some type of chemical which causes this permeation - less ron is out of the question for me!
  13. Its not surprising that your gtr is quicker in mid 30degree than a much cooler day...it was the same when I was racing bikes, higher temp gave more grip whereas a cooler day gave more power and grip is king on the circuit
  14. I've always liked the evo's over the wrx...ever since I saw footage of that black/red time attack evo from japan what a monsta! If I ever was forced to sell my gtr I'd get an evo (or an r35gtr lol), what do they weigh? With the power ur making it would be fun hehe
  15. would the bearings also be smeared with assembly lube to avoid wiping the bearings? is that common practice or am i wrong? nfi
  16. I know its an old thread but I had the same problem yesterday, off to check the p/s fluid level!
  17. that is surprising - did u install the clutch? one of the tricks is to use graphite powder for the thrust bearing slide rather than grease as directed by jim berry...have u spoken to jim about this? im sure if its a mechanical fault he will look after u
  18. another success story for proengines: one of greg's built Subaru engines ran second in the open class @ 1:39.95 at superlap. he didn't do the final assembly on it but was responsible for all machining, ported the heads etc.. dummy assembled it etc..
  19. ah well, next cruise i'll bring my camera
  20. Duncan, I'm keen as well How many cars were there? I take it nobody took some pics?
  21. here is the beast from japan, evo: http://www.advanwheels.com.au/racing/car.aspx?id=7
  22. yep, greg does the porting on site himself - 1 man show!
  23. ...and he knows his stuff when it comes porting heads Its quite comforting actually.
