  1. Updated, just been called up to Sydney for Wed, Thurs, Fri and possibly Sat. I will endeavour to be there for the saturday night shenanigans though.
  2. Did the seller send it recorded delivery, if so check that Ask the seller to post the receipt for sending and look for any numbers that could help identify the parcel Was the item insured by the seller when he sent it For future reference, I send anything internal here recorded in the form of a parcel. I tell the buyer that and if they dont like it, they can collect it. For $1000, I would want an address from the seller and considering the cost of flights and potentially what could be wrong with a turbo, would probably fly up there to collect it (assuming your mate is here in Vic and seller is in Qld). This does happen with parcels and can be legitimate so to start with, if I were your mate, I would be putting every effort into assuming the parcel was sent and searching for it and engage the help of the seller. That will be one way of seeing how genuine the turbo was from his efforts to track it down. Hope it gets sorted
  3. I bought my Evo from SSV and would recommend them. Everyone has given the details of the business above. I also took the time to walk around the forecourt as they say thats one way to tell what a dealer is like. Their cars were all spotless. Several lines, a few supras, S15. Had a minor issue with the warranty but it was all sorted and is an external one as someone above has said. Definately recommend them and they can import specifically for you as well.
  4. I am hoping to make this my first track outing in the Evo on the Friday if I can get the time off. I think there is something on the Friday where hacks like me can go and not bother the guys after quick laps.

    World Cup!

What gets me even more and having played it for nearly 15 years at various levels, is the "injury" is severe enough to warrant a free kick and in a lot cases, the injured player is fit enough to take the free kick!!
  6. Does that mean we cant use the balcony then? Have been waiting for this one for a long time, September last year, where has the time gone!? I am really hoping to get this weekend in before the work project starts and eats all my waking hours for next few months. Can you put me down for a single room incase I have to come up late/only for one night and I will pay for both nights. Thanks Bec
  7. Sorry to hear Some shocking drivers out there and as a result you are put out for the next few weeks/months because of a moment of stupidity by him.
  8. Excellent work Geoff. Even sneaked a few of the lib in there I see!
  9. LOL! Notice how I didnt mention the "activity". Thats excellent of them to do that for you. Catch ya Tuesday mate.
  10. Surely not!? What has happened to the regular Tuesday evening event, end of season?
  11. Bar looks superb Dan. Definately some rims with a bit of a dish would finish it off.
  12. LOL! at pre thrashed! I think all the other test drivers will come out of the woodwork now, damn you SAU hoons! Hey Darren, long time no speak mate, catch you on MSN next time. I really needed something I could easily clock 20,000-30,000 a year km's in and that I could hang on to for 5 years or so. Went for a passenger ride in West's mate 6 (sorry forgot your name!) and that was the final ticket really for me to get one.
  13. Very similar to my degree. I majored in Advanced Database Design and the Management of Information Systems and Services. Good degree and has been invaluable in my career so far. Good luck with the finals, its all worth it in the end.
  14. Are these the things in a row that span the width of the roof above the rear window? If so, I think they are 8's onwards and optioned so I dont have them. We saw one with those on at Sandown. James was talking to the guy about them so probably knows more than me on it. I was actually after a 6 until I found this one and am very glad I got this for a few 000 extra and a lot newer with less km's so the look has really grown on me in the past few weeks.
  15. To get a loan of any substantial amount, you will need to earn a credit history. I was faced with the same problem and it took me a year or so and steady employment to get anything. I came from the UK with the top credit rating but it wouldnt even be considered here. One of the good things you can do is open a bank account on a visit here to start the ball rolling. I would wait until you get here and talk to some importers and tuners alike who could advise. There are a lot of people importing here so lots of opinions to consider. Good luck and I am sure you will enjoy Oz, however what drives you to leave Vegas?
  16. Man was yesterday cold!!! I didnt even bring my beanie to this country, left it in the UK for my brother. Have to go and buy one now Well done to the people with PB's and Snowy, you artistic skills have improved 10 fold
  17. Thanks for all the replies and comments guys. Just took it down to Gippsland for a drive round some tracks and the handling is awesome. Flicked it onto the Gravel setting and the balance is superb. Stuff I used to drive the Lib in and get body roll, this doesnt even flinch. Certainly will be at DECA although I am not promising any good results! Need to find an owners manual and get a spare key cut now so will try Mitsubishi first. Cheers guys
  18. LOL! Thanks for all the feedback guys. ABuSD - Its an import in via Sydney as SSV dont yet have the compliance. They have a very nice yellow one also which I believe will be there compliance car to be tested. I also dont know a great deal about these cars and look forward to learning more about them. Dezz - No worries but I will have to learn to drive it first before I scare any passengers if my g/f's reaction was anything to go by! It will now be only my driving keeping me in last place!lol AGED - Yellow one was there and is very very nice. I am just not a yellow personality I dont think however having a yellow rex, it could be right up your street. BTW - Were you driving along Princes Hwy yesterday around 1.30pm up near the Blackburn Rd turn? emsta2003 - Yes same car and it was Marks. He was so impressed they are putting the yellow one through for their own compliance certification. BTW - Love the avatar! Was in the UK when that happened and watched the news, bit freaky at the time but funny looking back! Leewah - No chance of jumping ship! In fact there will be an SAU url going on it today and some other stickers if I can get them from Bec. Thanks for all the comments guys, am off to Sandown (watching only this time)
  19. Happy Birthday mate
  20. Thanks guys. Troy - Tried to stick around as long as possible but had to get going mate, sorry. Am calling into your place before Sandown tomorrow anyway so will show you then.
  21. Hi all Well it has been a long time coming but I finally have something. Purchased an Evo 7 and collected it today so have only just got in from being out in it. I am very happy with it and the refined performance is awesome. Few people to thank though. The dealership I got it from were really good and I am recommending them to anyone considering purchasing an import. They are Southern Special Vehicles located on the corner of Huntingdale Rd and Princes Hwy in South Oakleigh. Family run business who have a definate focus on customer satisfaction. Guy I dealt largely was Mark. He knows of SAU and has some rex mates so if you do read this mate, thank you Ferni, thanks for the GTR advice a few weeks back, much appreciated. Nigel at Racingline, thanks for showing me ALSGTR and taking the time to advise on this, looking forward to bringing it to you eventually for some bits Snowy for the advice and suggestions on Evos James who actually test drove this one and put the idea of a blue 7 in my head and suggest I go and have a look (was chasing a white 6 for a long time). _800STED or however Matt spells his username! Excellent insurance deal from Shannons and put time in researching cars for me, thanks mate I am sure there are others so thanks also. Looking forward to doing some track work and DECA in it. Few pics:

    World Cup!

Will watch as many of the games regardless of who the teams are as its a great game to watch. Supporting England all the way but will following Australia with great interest and hope they go far in the competition to elevate the status of "soccer" over here.
  23. If your car battery drains flat or too low to start the engine from, from having the radio on for 2 hours, something is wrong unless you are running an ICE install that is massively intensive on the battery with subs, amps etc in which case, I would still be surprised. Radio uses hardly any power. Have been before and had no problems.
  24. Welcome to SAU mate. Unfortunately the speed limits are not as relaxed here as the autobahns. I wont try and impress you with any German as I did it for 7 years at school and have forgotten most of it. Welcome
  25. Hi all The time has come to sell the liberty. I have the option of a company car so have chosen that which means this has to go. This car has had 2 owners from new with us being the second (girlfriends mum bought it new). We have had the 200,000km service done on it which included the plug being replaced behind the engine where it meets the gearbox and also the cambelt. It has full service history. Any inspection is welcome. Car has an excellent Clarion sound system including single CD headunit and 6 Disc changer in the boot. Rear seats fold flat to enable larger things to go in the car which has been massively beneficial. Details: Odo: 210,000kms Colour: Blue Transmission: Auto Tyres: good tread all round Cheap to insure and economical. Plate is not included. Car is located in Port Melbourne, Vic. Price: $14,900 ono. I am slightly negotiable on the price to ensure a sale.
