  1. ATI Balancer RB26 on RB25? Hey Guys, I have been looking at running an ATI Balancer on my New RB30/25 Combo but for the meantime while the engine is being built i want to throw it on my RB25 Neo. Now i have googled the shit out of this and cant seem to come up with a definitive answer and ATI only have the RB26 listed on there website but are all the RB25/26 and 30 Harmonic Balancers interchangeable? m not too fussed if the only difference is Pulley Diameter or offset as that can be corrected pretty easily anyway its mainly if the actual design is different for the harmonics of the different combos? Cheers
  2. Cant tell you what to check but i have an r34 gtt manual cluster that was mint when i removed it if your interested
  3. Yeah and not a bitumen track in sight looks like im gonna have to setup my kart for dirt
  4. Well life has thrown me a pretty big curveball in the past couple of months, my fiance has secured a job in Roxby Downs so about 600km from adelaide so we have had the past month of packing up our gear and moving our life upto Roxby, so nothing has progressed on the car but the plans for it have also changed.. its now going to endup tube chassis. Im going to be working in the mines so im on a 2 weeks on 1 week off roster so im now going to have alot more time to actually be able to tinker with the car and no real time restraints. So i dont think the car will see the track in possibly another 2-3 years but were now going to be making all our own rear suspension, going to a double wishbone rear end and changing the front suspension too. So from now on hopefully im going to be able to start bringing you more of this kinda goodness with our own custom hubs and arms etc..
  5. Hey guys, I was wondering if there was anyone around that could point me in the right direction of either someone specific to talk to or some reading material of suspension design. I have read a couple of books like "how to make your car handle" etc but all the books i have read more lean towards bandaiding existing suspension design. Nothing i have read talks about starting with a blank canvas like i am wanting to do. The car and intention is an R34 GTT that i have been building as a Sports Sedan, so circuit racing. With the rear end i have been trying to work with it but with all the suspension working as imaginary piviots and all the subframe piviots being off axis etc i am having a mission of a time working it all out and i think going back to basics and the old KISS principle will be beneficial to me in the end.
  6. I have a spare head at a mates place i will try get some measurements tomorrow arvo
  7. Well we now have some bog on the front end so start shaping that up abit more and soon we should have a pretty good shape. Nothing happening this weekend with wtac on so gonna have to wait till next week now
  8. Hey dude, yeah barrel, lock, key and the top half round section i have. I can do barrel etc for $150 if you want mate.
  9. Have got it all glassed and knocked off some of the high points already. Kinda unsure about how i am going to go with making flanges to mate it to the existing panel work but im sure i will work it out. I think i will endup running it 10mm over the existing guards etc and just having some dzus fastners. But hey here it is in its current state.. Nothing amazingly brilliant but i can say its all been done in the back yard!! Im sure it will get better over time but im happy for now!
  10. so we have managed to get a couple of layers of glass on the front so will leave it to dry and see if we need to add any more layers or if we can get into bogging and sanding
  11. you may have something sorted by now but i have door locks, boot lock and IGN barrel with matching key for sale if your interested? located in SA but can post no worries
  12. Well my new radiator rocked up today.. Lots of cutting to do but the core is the perfect size! So plan is to lay it flat basically near the cam gears and duct it out the bonnet. So we will focus on the front bar over the weekend and try get it glassed and maybe shaped.
  13. Yeah i have found a similar build in the dyno thread of 480kw with a semi built neo head, nitto rods, Cp pistons etc.. so my plan is spool rods, CP pistons and probs 9.5:1 with E85 and maybe 24psi of boost so i would love to see 450 and anything over should be a nice bonus
  14. Nah the cams arent vct compatible as the cams were specd before they made vct cams. But the head can still support vct if i swap cams. But after talking to darren he said he has seen the VCT gear die in dedicated track setups with high load/rpm and he reckons that im going to gain more from dialing in the cam to my rev range than i will running the vct. I would have rather keep vct but im gonna roll with his reccomendations
  15. Also just a small update on the engine side of things. A neo head popped up on facebook the other week. Was built by a mate Lewis Engines so had a chat to him and ended up snapping it up so will now just need to save up some more $$$ to get the bottom end built to suit. So plan is spool rods, CP pistons, ARP bits scattered through out and will possibly look at going to maybe something GTX3582 i think but will look into that possibly next year. Just want to get the front end finished and actually get some track time!!!
  16. So thats the new front bar design. So the small opening in the center will be the new inlet for the new radiator/IC design so that should be some fun in the future. Were going to be going to a jeep radiator and cutting up the tanks abit and laying it flat near the cam sensor and making a vent out the bonnet so see what happens but it should be fun. The cars now getting abit out of hand and i really just want to drive it but im currently really enjoying making the custom bits
  17. Ayy pictures are working.. well thats the XE falcon sports sedan we did a heap of work on
  18. I cant see the picture maybe its an issue with my internet. Yeah i thought about turn buckles but unfortunatley this whole car has a pretty strict budget and i know the turn buckles and stainless were only gonna be probs $100 but i had the ally sitting in the scrap bin and figured what the heck. That RX7 is cool i do like that! Might endup incorporating something like that into my splitter design. Yeah i couldnt justify it to be honoust that was why i went the 4 and originally it was only sitting under the bar so how much air it was getting was actually questionable but once i fitted them to the indicator holes it was getting too much cooling.
  19. Nah once i got the splitter on and even with the supports i didnt like it so thats why we are doing the fiberglass bar abit earlier than planned as the new bar design incorporates the splitter so i will be able to give it sufficent strength and support. I think if you used maybe 19mm mdf it would be fine but the 12mm i dont think has enough strength and for what the 19mm would weight i think it would out weigh any benefits. The undertray is going to be from ACP (aluminium composite panel) like diabond as you can get it in 6x2m sheets so i can have the floor as a single piece. I have seen people use the diabond in wheel tubs so i would expect it to be strong enough and withstand heat. The brake ducts at the moment are actually 4" aluminium range hood ducting from bunning so it was like $10 for 2.5m instead of the racing stuff at like $30 per foot. In my opinion it is too big.. i was struggling to actually get the brakes warmed up around mallala atleast. There currently just attached to the lower arms. Once i get abit more confident with the fiberglass i plan to make a hat that blows into the center of the disk and out the vents in the disk. And only have 2" feeding it.
  20. Well i ended up having a customers car come into the shed for a whole heap of work... but i cant seem to add in pictures at the moment.. Well his cars out and the R34 is back in so i have been through the wiring loom again and removed the last of the original loom and wired up the wipers and brake night to my custom loom. So were slowly getting there but i have also focussed on the front splitter/bumper so have started shaping that in fiberglass and will try pulling a mould in a couple of weeks once happy with the shape. Sorry i cant seem to upload pics this app isnt letting me for some reason
  21. I have struggled to find a decent wiring diagram for the past 2 years i have just been using the workshop manual and getting selected pages. Hopefully someone has something!!!
