^^ what he said...

also if you use a genuine GTR bar, if you use a genuine GTR bumper support (ie reo) you won't have to bend anything in the front, just the sides so they meet up witht he guards. The most common thing you see with R32 GTR bumpers on GTSt's is the 1cm or so gap under the headlights where the bumper bends.

You can avoid that by using a genuine GTR bumper support.

By "bumper support" your talking about the actual metal bumper or re-bar right?

Not to hijack this thread(and funky + 2 G U UP are right,by the way!),where is the best place to look for NEW Nissan body bits(R32 GT-R,if it matters)? Japan? Or does someone reputable bring in/order in stuff here? My car is dead straight, but a project looms...

Four months ago I bought a new R32 GTR bar from Mr Nissan for $519.00

Front bar vents are around $200 each. Yes, each. :P

Nismo sideskirts (the 1/3 OEM) are just over $400 each. Yes, each. :)

Suddenly fibreglass bits sounded a lot more appealing.

That's not as shocking as I expected...

Mr Nissan as in the USA fella, not Nissan Oz,yes? I've got a V Spec' II 32,so the front bar has the extra vents etc...I'd assume Nissan Oz,not bringing this model in,wouldn't want to have anything to do with it. Has anyone found a Nissan dealer in Oz that'll get new bits from Japan for their import that isn't a locally bought in model?

And,back on thread, most GTS-T's seem to have that dreaded gap on the sides, but I've seen the things fitted successfully,so it can be done...Once again, listen to funkymonkey and 2GU UP-they're onto it re:that GTR bumper support. :P

Yes Nissan OZ

They all can get import stuff now.

Oh and Nissan Oz not bringing this model in... bollocks. My build plate says "Nissan Australia Motor Company"...

Brighton Nissan (Melb)

Blackburn Nissan (Melb)

they can both help you.

At double the life, flexibility, lack of cracking, lack of getting stress cracks.. and I *think* the nissan genuine's come pre-painted in your cars colour (not exactly sure on that though).. I'd pay double for plastic. I had fibreglass front bar(s) on my old car, and no end of destroyings for 2 bars.

Never mind asking a real panel beater what they think of the quality and the stuffing around to fit the fibreglass units. Many of them don't even come out of the mould properly..with heaps of small imperfections which need to be tidied up before fitting.

My current factory plastic bar has quite a few scrapes, but that would have been well destroyed by now if it was fibre.

Thankyou sir! You've been a huge help,seriously!

And to those that endevour to get said GT-R bar fitted to their GTS',good luck-it sounds and appears quite doable!

$519.00 for a front bar is unpainted and not primed. That price was after a lot of haggling and the painter using a few favours. Nissan first stated the retail was just over $700 for the genuine bar.

I agree with you re: cracking etc. which is why I bought a plastic OEM front bar. I am happy with fibreglass Nismo skirts, vents and rear lip though because they'll never flex. The skirts, possibly, but no dramas so far and they're only small.

The cost for fibreglass was around $500 for those three components yet it would have been around $1600 from Nissan for plastic.

Personal preference of course, but I saved where I thought I could.

Cheers Gordon,

Mark

    • Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?
    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
