Ok, rather than perverting Nicks thread with all my random shit I will start up this one so we can post up some nice pics that aren't directly tuning shop and TAS related. I know nick has a mountain of shots the he is working though, and I did a fair effort this year too with 1000+ shots.

ok to kick it off here is some pics from Yakiniku. My friend simon took me here. Awesome place. For those that don't know Yakiniku is Korean BBQ. they bring out some hot charcol and whack is in the gas burner with a grill on top. They have a big picture of a cow divided into sections and you can order beef from any part of the cow. between the two of us we had around 5 different types of beef, 2 types of kimchi, awesome fried rice in a stone bowl, tuna sashimi salad, some salmon sashimi, about 5 beers each, and two bottles of sake. I was sooo smashed when i left that place. Sorry about the quality of these pics but they are from my phone.

Here is simon cooking some up:

that place was awesome. cost about $300 for just the two of us, but we ate and drank a shitload. I don't think they had seen the likes of us before.

this photo is (i think) the first we had in japan, it's at a little ramen place we have been to dozens of time. Nick loves the gyoza here. It's all good, and very cheap. You could say it's our local.

some ramen to go with the gyoza.

* again these are both from my phone so sorry about the low qual.

Here is my spy photograph of what i am pretty sure is the next GTR. Powered by a 15cc single cylinder engine from a whipper snipper.. nice.

here is one of my injuries from when i fell off my Beer Scooter. I wont (cant?) divulge exactly how this happend but it started with two beers, 3 more pints, JD and coke, then three long island ice teas. It ended at 8:30am with me looking like i had crashed my beer scooter into the wall at about it's 60kmh max speed. This is by no means the worst of what i did to myself, but it gives you an idea... lol

here is the selection of seats that Garage Thrash had on display at TAS.

I think these two would be perfect for Troy so he can fit in with the strange folk in Melbourne (funky monkey in particular)... lol.

Good work Hillbillie ;)

ok another random pic to start the day. This is from a bottle shop near ichikawa. check out the price of a 96 vintage Dom peringnon, or a NV Veuve Cliquot... For those that don't know the Veuve is about $110 here and at 4000 yen is around $46, or half the price they charge for a nice melon in Shinjuku...haha

another one for my pissy friend troy. your next brake kit mate, no mucking around, reach straight for these 12 piston callipers from endless.

ok this one is the view from my hotel room in Shinjuku. Great way to start the day looking out the window over Kabuki-cho and Shinjuku.

here is pretty much the same pic at night.

ok 1 more, different angle, different day. such a nice view.

yeah they are a pretty horn looking calliper. I like how they have little rings on the outside of where each piston is, and "12 piston" written inside one just to make sure people know you spent the big bucks.

and troy i know you only like the trust girl becuase she has Trust TD Power written on her arm. Plus you hear a rumour she can get a staff discount on exhaust housings...

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
