these photos of the cape otway lighthouse are from a couple of years ago when me and the wife were camping in apollo bay. it was farkin' windy that day. had to hold onto my glasses so they didn't blow off!!!. it's a pity we weren't able to go this time around. it really is a great place. there's a couple of war bunkers there too.

maybe next time. although the road leading to it and the car park are pretty shit. and you have to pay to get in.

I think it hit the window.

I think it is fair to say that Ash is fully to blame for the M&M hitting your car.....

I threw it at him, but he had to do his "slow down time thing, and matrix out of the way" imersonation, leaving your car open to such projectiles. Do you see Goalies in the World Cup dodge the ball? NO. Ash was weak and let his team down.....

Tahts the biggest load of spew i've heard from your chops.

Even the stuff on Sat night about sneaking into my bed doesnt compare to the above :)

I thought you were throwing "anti-lag" at Paul?

hey guys

havent read the thread coz im exhausted, but i will do tomorrow....

the pics ive seen so far in here are great, and nice zoom work on the 1 of me leaving the motel tharaka....lol

i left for qld on the 5th, so could only stay for the first day, but had a great time driving on the GOR...hadn't ever been on it before, but it was good fun.

I cruised back with a black 33 behind me, not sure who you were but that made it slightly more enjoyable, even though we had that tosser in front of us in his rice box lol....

My mrs had a great time talking nursing with ya tash, so i'd say you two will probably catch up at the next event you're both at :D

and going back to the first page....Al's comment to nate, love your work Al....couldn't have said it better myself.

Here I was sitting on 100kph on a straight that was about 15 km long and I had a XR8 Ute come from nowhere and pass me I estimate the speed he passed me at was around 220 kph

ah yes, those back roads. dead straight, for the most part, dead flat. and as u mentioned, very long. affectionately known as the "top speed test road" :P good on you though for sticking to 100. Especially in a skyline, i guess its different on an organized cruise of course.

Yeah that was me

always good to have someone doing the GOR with ya that's for sure. But I'm with you - that Exa was holding us up a little too much hehe

holding you up maybe, but my cars got stock suspension and piss weak thin stocky tyres...add that to being the first time i've been on the GOR and i was going plenty fast....was trying to let you get past, but i dont think you're as crazy (stupid) as that guy in the 4wd that passed 4 cars (inc. us 2) on that blind turn!

lol...yeah i remember that guy. He was up my arse for a while there and even flashed his high beams at me once or twice. I was like "?? What the hell do you want me to do?!"

ah well - nice drive nonetheless...

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
