Hey all,

I used to have my ebc and turbo timer stuck ontop of each other and that was then stuck under near the steering wheel using double sided tape.

1 year later it came unstuck and ever since then i can never get any double sided tape to stick, ive always cleaned the surface before using new tape and no i dont want to drill any holes in my car.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Ta in advance

Brendan

i had to get double sided tape for my side skirt still havent found any thats holds!!!

i use to have both my EBC and turbo timer stuck in the same position as you, tried velco & heap of double sided tape.

THEN i got my beloved AVC-R so now its only the turbo timer sitting in that position, and guess what i'm using??.. haha its a bit dodgy i must admit but it works 'BLU-TAC' haha thats right and a heap of it!... still holds in the heat to my surprise.

I used 3M VHB double sided tape but you have to wipe wax and grease on the area first it will fall off. You should wipe wax and grease over it no matter what you use, because the plastic is oily and nothing will stick to some thing thats oily.

We use this shuff at work called 'Husky' double sided tape. It sticks as good as anything I have ever seen. You should be able to get it at a arts supplies store or something like that

Hi Driver, I had exactly the same problem.. both my ebc and turbotimer are together so whatever I used it would just fall off whenever it got too hot, anyway the one I found that has worked is from supercheap autos, there's a greenish double sided tape that comes in a roll(no kidding :O ) You just need to lay strips of it on your tt or ebc and it won't fall off.. there's another roll where the foam is a bit thicker, its black I think(don't get that one), look for the thinner one.. it's only about 1-2mm think and about 5mm wide... I've had it on for over a year and it's still really tight even when I push on it.. good luck :)

i dont know the brand of the tape but.. my r32 gtr had an oem nissan dealer fitted knee brace/pad on the drivers door and center console. they were fkn annoying so i tried to remove them.

the double sided tape they used on these was f**king hardcore, in the end i had to take the door skin off and use a filleting knife to cut between the door skin and the knee brace thru the foamy part of the tape, could not get it off any other way, im still stuck with the glue on the door trim, cant get it off.

so if you really really want to fix it will this stuff exists, goodluck ever gettting it off tho

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
