My mate is running his car at the dyno and drags at Easternats this week and is looking for one of those suction cap mounted video camera holders that he can mount to the rear screen of his ute. Preferbly something with angle adjustment so it can be universal.

Was going to use one of the suction cap things a glazier uses to carry large pieces of glass and make something but time has won in the end so he is looking to purchase one.

Can anybody help on where we could find something like this ready made?

Hi,

My uncle owns a camera store and can get you what you want... I got my Manfrotto 241v from him for around $180 and it does the job very well.

It works on a single suction cup with steel support rails and a ball joint system for angling the camera/camcorder. Also, being Manfrotto, the quality and rigidity of the thing is awesome.

Let me know if you are interested, I'll see if I can even get the supplier to send it directly to you :(

i made a mount that clamps to the headrest mount of an R33 GTSt from alu piping.

it holds a Manfrotto Tripod head.

as I can't use it now, and it is taking up space, if someone wants it they can have it - you'll just have to get a tripod head for it.

it's a bit rudimentary buy does the job...

will throw up some pics when I'm back in Melb

Cheers

PS easy as to make... just do it yourself!

:P I got 1 you guys can borrow if you want.

It can be mounted on ANY angle/degree you want.

I dont mind lending it out.

Just pm me. I need it for this sunday for vicdrift at winton....

I bought it for $200 and was here in 2 days!

The footage from the last event was fantastic, it doesnt shake (even on a drift car) and like i said can be mounted anywhere!

MSS: Whered u get that from?(Is it the same as ant95's?

Isnt it worrying with only a suction cup holding your camera outside your car when ur getting crazy speeds?

Checked out www.chasecam.com, these suckers are only $40USD which aint to bad at all.

Bullet cameras arent bad as well at $255 USD

i have no clue who ant95 is but it might be the same.

The camera has been tested at 240kph and handles GREAT, especially with drift it handles excellent.

It was tested at the first vic drift day on the holford motors S14, and worked excellent. I will post up videos sometime during the week

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
