Just get any pod filter they'll give you the loud induction sound that your after.

thats the thing...i dont no which one gives the biggest suction noise.

i was told #5 gives the biggest noise but for air filteration...apexi has the upper hand.

can anyone confirm this?

also can anyone tell me wat #6 is....its not a pod...its some sort of pipe...that does wat exactly? lol

they say that #1 is best for intake because of its swirl design. it allows maximum air to go in. if u think about it, it makes perfect sense. twisted air moves alot faster then straight.......................................i think lol

But on the other hand, #3 and #4 have a larger surface are, meaning that more air could be filtered at once, would that have an effect?

well there u have it boys.....i told u apexi wins....haha

it would seem that way but bahh.....doubtful...

although the filters were tested on filteration and hp gain.....i still wanna no which makes the best noise (i know i know they were made for air going in not sound comming out....still i just wanna no)

There you go anjoO darK found the link I was reffering to. You cant go past the apexi pod it would give you that loud sucking sound as well. Im sure alot of people here would have an apexi pod on thier line just ask them.

Isnt the last pic just an adaptor piping for the pod ? Correct me if im wrong....

welll thanks guys i think im defently going for the apexi pod.....but what about how ppl have 2 or 3 pods.....whats that all about (i guess for more air lol)....and how does one tell if one needs more then 1

how long do these things take to put in and get runnin......if all goes good ill get one tm haha

Twin Turbo = Twin Intake = Twin Pods

I think you'd need a full custom manifold to have twin pods on a single turbo or NA, you probably have to wire up another AFM too...

If you simply buy a filter for the induction noise, then there will be a much louder noise eventually - when the engine shits itself from all the dirt and crap it has inhaled.

Which one FILTERs best?

SK has recommended pipercross - some UK brand.

I found a pod of theirs for like $70.. Sounds good to me.

I emailed them asking what size I would need to fit a z32 AFM and they never got back from me. Lost my business on that count but I may email them again just to be sure.

i still wanna no which makes the best noise (i know i know they were made for air going in not sound comming out....still i just wanna no)

So all you are interested in is the sound, so why run a filter at all? That will be the loudest, make the most noise. Sure it will stuff up the turbo and the engine in pretty quick time, but you don’t care about that, you are only concerned with the sound.

The real answer is that there isn’t much difference in sound from an unshielded POD. They all make pretty much the same amount of noise. Of course an unshielded POD with no ambient air feed looses noticeable horsepower from the hot air ingested and gives worse fuel economy. But hey you don’t care about that, you are only concerned with the sound.

:P cheers :D

PS, I put this thread up there in my Top 20 worst ever questions

Twin Turbo = Twin Intake = Twin Pods

I think you'd need a full custom manifold to have twin pods on a single turbo or NA, you probably have to wire up another AFM too...

Wrong!! In a number of ways. Twin pods are popular but on my RB25DETT in the track car I ran single AFM and single pod, however the stock GTR setup is single airbox and is good enough for my 260rwkw/0-100 in 4.02s. Funnily enough the GTSt's share the same filter panel as GTRs. So the filter is not the problem. GTSt's can be a bit strangled in the induction piping so some lateral thought to help it breaths means

a. legal and only 1 induction mod allowed means a FMIC can be run,

b. less likely to be considered a wanker because of the rediculous noises you attempt to generate, and

c. almost free.

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
