id put the spoiler back on the rear, change the side mirrors, change the skirts to something a bit more even with the front bar

looking nice

what you been smoking akeenan :D have u seen the old spoiler?

what you mean Jar, spoiler "ftw"?

bugger, i wouldn't have minded some for half price, if they were the same - yeah, def need 18's.

yeah very similar to GT4's but without the $$$, like $1050 a rim for 18's? or was that $700... something huge... i would love the GT4's from the ZTune (black, shadow chrome, whatever), but too pricey... and i don't think you quite get the effect without them being on a GTR - where as these rims have that inward spoke look already...

yeah apparently $1050 per rim..ridiculous coz i want them too lol

let me know how you go with the bee-r ones in 18"...what prices etc and where from

"ftw" means for the win, and is quite possibly the most annoying and lame abbreviation, used WAY too much on this site...ban it i say

prices on the Bee-Rs in 18s are actually quite reasonable... even after the importer tacks there bit onto it.

When i was looking at importing a set Bee-R had a special on and it worked out to just over 1800 landed.

Nice front bar.

But the whole car looks a bit uneven now, you might need some different skirts or rear bar as it looks very nose heavy.

And putting on 18's will probably not solve your height issue as your 18's will have a very similar rolling diameter to your 17's.

Even up the rest of the car with the front bar, and itll be sweet!

yeah, i'm trying to sus some skirts/rear bars out but haven't heard back as yet... too be honest i wouldn't even know what else is really out there... not a fan of those bomex type skirts/rear bar...

well 18's are going to make it sit a little higher, fill the guards up a bit more, which then means i can lower it down a little back to where it is now (which is ok, don't really scrape if i attack some steep things at an angle)

so the whole combo of a little higher, a little more filling out of guards and then being able to lower it a little should make enough of a difference i'm guessing..

respray it bayside blue... go on... do it!

frontend conversion looks hot as. well done... well if it's had troy's hands on it you can't expect anything else.

i would love to do it TV2... but hmm... dunno... that means engine out... more $$ - i'm grown to like black... looks pretty tough and hasn't been the nightmare cleaning job that some ppl make out

if i was going to do anything different, it would be the Lambo fiery orange/pearl colour with a carbon bonnet... but i'm going to struggle to pay for any respray and i've been told a repsray to the same colour is easier/cheaper? yes no?

no troy won't be doing the respray. I need to metal weld the spoiler holes on the rear quarters, and also the annoying rust spot under the centre brake light that so many 34's have... that's extra, quoted $1500 only just to spray/weld rear quarters and boot (rust spot)... guy said, for another $1500, he'd do the whole car...

well, who's going to hook me up with a good deal for a TV2 then? :D:rofl:

go LX0

or, the champagne metallic on the r34 gtr

Whats everyone going on about bigger wheels filling the gaurds more and giving it more clearence? how does that work? Since when you go up a wheel size you reduce the profile n the tyre to keep the same rolling diamater, which means your car ends up the same height and same gap between the tyre and the guard... you just have more rim and less tyre.........

or am i missing something here?

ps, R34 GTR fronts look so tough!

I'd also be worried about a 3k paintjob... i've never had a full respray but for a proper one they have to remove the windows/lights etc.. which i would of thought would cost a lot more than 3k......

Ahhhhh so that was YOUR car I saw there. Interesting.

Bar is good but you will never be able to lower the car, I saw how low it sat stock, you'd loose it first curb or speed bump you mount!

I saw the work on the bonent, Troy did a good job. Should look good finished.

Nice work Chinny,

I'm with Ferni, bigger wheels will not work for clearance because you are limited by the suspension and guards on your rolling diameter.

Air bag it!

Best of both worlds.

;)

    • To back this up, I'm always looking on the outside, seeing the level, and then opening it up anyway, as I'm worried the level I've looked at, is more so a scunge line. Then you end up dipping your damn finger in it too depending on the type of tank you're looking at just to make sure I'm not going insane.   PS, Mark, polish up the none moroso one a bit and then give it a clear coat. The Moroso one looks to be way shiner (not mirror polished, just shinier) and it'll still look weird with the two different alloys beside each other. Either that, or Id probably paint them a flat black...
    • Good old Orange Park hey... 😛   f**k I miss that race track
    • lo, it was a death trap. Good times. Got any Fatz Drift Day DVDs still available?
    • Yes, overthinking. Many PS reserviors are completely opaque. Our Skyline ones, for example. Have to remove lid, peak inside, swirl the dipstick, try to remember how to read it, etc etc. Normal. Radiator overflows are often sufficiently opaque and scunged up that you can't see the true level inside anyway, and have to open and have a peak. Besides which, I replaced the (massively expensive, even back then) plastic overflow in my Alfa GTV, back in the '90s with a stainless one that I had a good fabricator make up to be dimensionally same-same, that looks remarkably similar to the Bogan's Moroso one above, and I never suffered any particular paranoia that I didn't know how much coolant was in it.
    • Looks great, but I'm always concerned that it makes it difficult to see what level the fluids are at. Am I overthinking this?
