hopefully, and most likely, a boost leak. Barely makes boost. Problem that Pat has pointed out, because the ViPEC is such a f**king good ECU, there are NO other symptoms lol. I'll be replacing some silicon joiners and 13 hose clamps on Saturday morning to hopefully fix it though. Until then, I'm avoiding driving my car - and if I do (like I will tomorrow arvo, unless someone wants to go to Trojan for me) then I drive it like a bitch.

weaksauce. i drove to tuggers and back with a blown off turbo > cooler pipe :D

map based yo. it will drive and idle fine just wont have any power.

omg my browser hates your avatar lol

Yeah our CBD is not very big :) The Mantra's on Northbourne Ave.... you'd be about 5-10 mins away from the meeting spot

yeah sorry not gunna change it :(

thats chilled then i can just wander on over as i wont have a car lol

Well the problem with it being MAP based, is that I'm not even 100% sure it's a cooler pipe. I hope it is, but they're all still together :) Though the cooler entry and exit pipes go from 3" to 2.5", and it would appear that the previous owner didn't use a step-down joiner - just a straight 3" silicon piece. Hopefully there's my problem.

It's not walking distance... Canberra is really spread out so the walking distances are really long but due to good roads and not much traffic driving distances are short

I'm sure someone wont mind picking you up, I may be able to swing by and get you as I can go past Northbourne with a slight deviation to my usual route, plus then we can cruise though the "City"

What goes on here in the ACT? This will be my last Friday night here for probably 2 months (finished uni until next year) and I wouldn't mind seeing a few local Skylines..

We usually meet around 10pm at Grevillea Park. Do a search in google maps for Grevillea Park ACT, its right on the waterfront next to The Boat House.

yeah that would be great heaps keen

Prob won't be out tonight. Doing stuff with the missus, and need to get to bed at a decent time - early morning.

But will try to come out and catch you guys again another friday night, esp with the nice weather.

Also keen to meet and do a few photo shoots sometime. I have a decent camera, and moderate skills. Just need ideas for locations, and a few others wanting to do some shots also (once the weather pans out better).

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
