Dealer said thats a factory Type M front bar? I dont see many Type M's for sale with foglights..? Can someone verify this? Also has electronic front spoiler button inside car and was wondering if it is really TypeM front bar.

Thanks :P

Rekin, neat looking car. Don't worry EAS will go over it properly and point out any faults; and they don't have any cars to sell :D. Have you made an appointment? as Vic and George get very busy :P.

All the best buddy, hope to see ya on a few SAU cruises.

Tried to book a saturday inspection on friday but was a bit too late and that they open till 9-12.

I've only got their business number and dont know if they open on sunday. Will try and call them tomorrow and get inspection on Wednesday after the free service. :D

R32_GODZILLA was kind enough to forward me the email he received from the import. Two cars were in the email, his gunmetal and my black one.

In this email there were pictures of both cars, and I stumbled across this picture which blew me away.

There is a dent!

There was no dent when i went to inspect so he fixed the damage and remained silent.

Dealer or private seller, they would both try to fix/hide any damages.

R32_GODZILLA also seemed to get the best condition r32 from the two and a much better price (i think i paid $500~ more). Guess I learnt one of life's lessons ;)

id be taking that photo to the dealer and telling him to knock the price down ;)

seeing as how he lied to you and all...

With the deposit of $250 I paid, he will have the upper hand in any haggling which will occur now, but im still going to try, and with R32_GODZILLA's permission show the pictures and/or compare my car to his.

Dont want to pull R32_GODZILLA into this mess as he may have a good relationship with the dealer and dont want him to suffer.

edit: actually, depends really on what mods were provided with R32_GODZILLA's. As the hks bov and tein suspensions would justify the price increase. (yes im trying to find excuses :D )

Sell me the front lower lip ;)

At the end of the day you are buying a used Jap sports car that, lets face it, would have been owned by a less then wealthy person in Japan...so they have all had questionable pasts and some have neede more repairs then others.

Inspect the basics and make sure they are all on good health.

Im being a bit silly here, but dont rush, they are hard to find but they do still exist...clean neat R32s for less money then this guy is asking. A friend bought a very neat and great condition R32.

Things to check on an R32 GTSt in addition to the usual...are

- Front and rear tie rod ends

- front steering rack boots

- brake master cylinder and booster

- Clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder.

- general condition of window seals and surrounds. If its had water in the boot, then i would be looking very closely for rust around the bootom af the rear window.

- Also the mods it has. If the Teins are 10 yr old then the std suspension would probably be better. the aftermarket gear is only good if it doenst need replacing.

This is the GTSt a friend recently bought because he wanted to cut back on the kms his GTR is doing...its bloofy neat and evcen has a sunroof.

Sell me the front lower lip :D

No, sell me the front lip. :D If you find out were the front lip came from let me know.

I'd take a close look at the front end for crash damage, thats not a type m front bar. My car is a type m and doesn't have any of the type m body kit so i think there might have been a factory option to get the normal bar, but if youve got the controls for the electronic front spoiler i'd say the bar has been changed.

It looks very tidy and looks good with that front bar, so maybe the previous owner just changed it cause it looked good.

Front lip isnt going anywhere yet

Here is another angle of the dissapearing dent. Picture taken in Japan

Amazing how the car "arrives" on Friday at dealer and Im there Sat morning with a straight body.

Will have to confront dealer about this dent and see how he responds.

Booked a full inspection at EAS performance; compression, leakdown test etc on Wednesday.

Will keep you guys updated.

The front lip looks like one from chargespeed. Ive found 2 on the jap yahoo auctions.

Type 1: http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c74831678

http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c85785734

etc... GTR style lip for r32 gtst:

They fit on the standard (non type M) front bar. I want one too...

things to look at if its been in an accident, have a look at the bolts holding the guards/bonnet/doors in. they are usualy painted, if they are all scraped up ask why, look in the boot, lift up the carpet and see if it has that plasticy insulation stuff down, and is it the same colour as the rest of the boot? Dose it look brand new or 15years old. just simple things you can look at.

Car looks real nice tho!]

good luck

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
