Can you also confirm if these ones from the guy on Ebay will use the original throttle body and injectors - in other words can it be fitted to a standard RB25 without needing anything else apart from new intercooler piping?

These manifolds are set up to run a Q45 throttle body, and would require an adapter to fit the standard throttle body. If the group buy ever goes ahead, i can make these. My concern with getting them sent from japan is that they are $310, and then we could get hit with duty, wheras i have already found them for $319, but waiting for someone to have stock

i'd take one off the ebay one's as well for that price. but $319 is still a bargain. surely, flow test and what not has to be done and verified though doesnt it?

screw flow test i just want to be able to shut my bonnet...i just want something that can be installed using the most stock parts as possible.

im assuming im not the only one here without a q45 TB, how much for one roughly or how much for the adaptor u suggested. Perhaps if its bigger its better to put the q45 depending on price.

Got a reply from the ebay guy in japan, he said he can only post it via ems as he lives in the mountains, that means it is something like $170 postage each!

Changed my mind... I'll pass on these. I've been given a tip that the casting on these cheap GReddy copy plenums is pretty bad... They may be OK, but I suppose you get what you pay for.

im in at 170 posted if it costs me $400 to make it fit im still $$$$ in front saving money on greddy

any1 no where we can get q45 throttle bodys or a cheap alternative i know they use xf on sr20det will it work on these?

or possible a goup buy with throttle bodys as well??

another question has any1 gone to or thought about getting a price off i think its micks metal craft or something like that?? or someone like that and get a price on a custom plenum?

maybe we could souse a decent one from someone in au. by the looks of this thread there is atleast 25 people after them

i know micks motor sport wanted about $850?

I got Mick to make something for my car once. Holy shit was it expensive. Lovely work though. Couldn't fault that.

I might have a chat to him. I know him a bit. It'll never cost $300-400 though.

ok guys i found this on calaisturbo.com.au

CPC custom plenums

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you after:

a REAL decrease in lag ?

a REAL increase in throttle response ? and

the highest flowing RB30 plenum using standard runners ?

If you answered YES to any of these questions and want the results to speak for themselves and nobody else ............ read on.

See below a dyno sheet of a RB30 with one of my plenums, 80mm throttle body, standard GT35/40, and a 1.06 exhaust housing and the results speak for themselves. Full boost, 25psi, reached by 3000rpm, this is SIMPLY UNHEARD OF.

RB30 Plenum price - $900 delivered (with exchange runners) or $900 + delivery (without exchange runners)

All plenums come complete with:

- bead blasted runners

- 5 seperate vacuum fittings for brake booster, fuel pressure regualtor, map sensor, boost guage etc etc more if you like on request

- throttle body plate to suit whatever throttle body you like (XF, Q45, LS1 etc included)

- studs, nuts and washers to fit throttle body of your choice

- logo engraved on all plenums

Extra's available are:

Polished plenum $120

XF Throttle Bodies with TPS $70 (bead blasted clean)

80mm Throttle body $400 (overall flow is up 20% on XF throttle body)

Fuel rail $120 (painted in 2 pac black)

**Discounts available for packages**

For those who want more specific info, on average, each port flows well over 200cfm @ 25" without any power porting what so ever.

All work is guaranteed and fixed free of charge and postage costs paid for.

Thanks,

Ariel

Hi there mate i can get jun style rb20det and rb25det plenums a lot bigger the size then those greddy plenums, i am working out a price with a supplier at the moment max should be $600 delivered depending on how many we order if you can get 10 people then i can probably even get a better price, pics of the plenum are below i have one and am putting it on my rb25/30. Plenum is good just needs cleaning up around the inside of the tb and runners have a look at the pics. Should take about 3 weeks till they arrive once we place order.

Regards,

Antony

This came from AM PERFORMANCE

So does the plenum above use the factory fuel rail, etc.?

Also how does the Throtte Body bolt up to the plenum as the second pic does not have a flange? Unless he makes a flange to order :D

I'll be interested if you can get one suitable for the RB20 also.

Might be an idea to start a new thread on these plenums once you have got a set supplier and a set price and group buy info etc.

    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
    • Well the articals keep saying a Q50s (Skyline in Japan) with a new Manual gearbox. I like the talk about the new looks with the round tail lights. I hope they bring back the retro look like they did with the Z
