Hey,

Coming home from a mates party last night out in the mountain, let a mate drive my car home with me in at as I don't drink drive, well anyway the results of a amatuer and a gtr = bang

He was braking into and out of the corner that he approached to quickly, so shifted the weight onto the front, back end stepped out as we were turning, he panicked quickly countrsteered and let it snap back then jump on brakes and off the road we went.

2 trees and a fence and we were pulled up.

anyway what do you reckon, is it repairable or would you just strip it and sell it for parts?

cheers

first I would get a damage estimate, then I would go and give that estimate to my "friend" and finally whoop his ass to pluto!

I would think, that maybe you could repair it, but it will cost you heaps - and insurance wont cover you as you werent driving it......

Also should add, a rule that I used to have when I was drinking was that I never take my car out. If at all I was gonna be drinking and if I had to drive to get to the party or place or whatever, I take my old bomb, that way if I had to leave it there, I wouldnt be too worried about something happening to my car....

Insurance?

Could say you were driving.....

Either way that don't look too repairable but then again i've seen some cars totaled or what i thought was totaled and they end up being repairable. I'd get a few opinions from some bodyshops.

PS lesson learnt (don't mean that in a harsh way) to never let friend drive car.

Whoa....that sucks. You seem so blasé about it all, I could imagine myself in hysterics if the shoe was on the other foot.

Yeh I wouldn't say I'm not to fussed more so on the depressive side, the car was to be sold in a week or 2 for 17,500 thats money that could have been in my account ready for another car, but now there is this major inconvience with payment from said driver which will need discussing and time frame when I get it etc,

What can you do? thinking about just f**ks with your head.

Insurance is a negative, Haven't got any as I never thought "I" would need to claim

Ouch.. good to see your ok, as everyone said - write off for sure!..

"Insurance is a negative" - as in you don't have any, or they aren't going to cover you..

Good luck with getting the money out of your mate.. could be alittle difficult trying to get money from them...

well the good news is it's not the end of the world. if your friend is a good one he will offer to either take the car off your hands for $17,500 and wreck/repair it himself, of let you wreck it out and he will pay you for the difference between what you get at the $17,500 you were selling it for.

if he is not going to be a man, and doesn't offer to compensate you for his f**k up then there is not much you can do, but wreck it out and move on.

Well as everyone has said lucky your not hurt.

But im guessin you can't do or expect to much from your mate as by the looks of the damage you guys were fair flying, and guessing again you'd have given him permission to do so.....?

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
