Stock Internals

Stock Turbo

3"Turbo back exhaust/Screamer

POD

EBC runing 12 psi

FMIC

It did 170rwkw @ 1.1 bar at Boostworx

Is it woth getting a remap? what would the benefits be on my setup?.

I am planning to get a turbo in the near future along with injectors

and a fuel pump, but untill then...

Any comment would be appreciated

it really depends on how the car is running at the moment, and how long till you are doing the upgrades. if they are only a month or 2 away, just wait till they go on to do the remap. also if the afr's aren't too bad then a remap won't gain you as much power as if it was rich as hell.

Well Dr Drift is coming to adelaide tomorrow he said I can remap it tomorrow and then when he comes back in a months time he would remap it again to suit the extra mods, and all I have to pay would be the Dyno time.

oh, and btw, i love your idea of "almost stock".. ha ha.. you've got to be kidding right?

Well, if you think about it is quite stock, nothing major done to it just the usual mods :ermm:

no mate..

99.% of the cars on the road have "the usual mods" - whic is NOTHING

stock = out of the factory

when you are making 50% more power than a stock car and are running at almost twice the standard boost level, you have well passed the meaning of "pretty stock" buddy. plus you are running a screamer which is illegal. stock cars are legal.

Very worth it...you get better fuel economy, more torque, more power and the peace of mind that its not leaning out...i've got the same mods and i got sam aka to remap it too...best bang for buck imo...

I wouldn't run the stock ceramic turbo at 1.1 bar though for obvious reasons though...

Thanks guys, some say do it some say wait uhmmm.

Hey limpus how many kw did you gain with just the remap and the mods you had?

oh btw the 1.1 bar was a one off for the dyno, however I am very tempted to run that on a daily basis.

Dr Drift charges $330 for the remap and $180 per hour of dyno time to fine tune!

I had it done to mine and gained around 3rwkw BUT it was detonating it's head off! It did however gain 20kw throughout the rev range, I had speed cut removed, rev limiter lifted a little and it was a completly different car to drive.

If you live near your tuner, it is good thing to get done, if you don't and plan on doing future mods then you should really consider your options!

I live in Tas and had it done during a Dr Drift visit. I am looking at getting it done again after I install my AFM and injectors and luckily he plans to come back down. would be a different story if I had to venture up to melb!

Make your own mind up!

Peak power increased by about 10-15rwkw...but more power across the entire rev range...its all about the area under the curve...btw...i'd recommend getting a fuel pump asap...not for power but more as a support mod...you definitely don't want the car leaning out...even if you're running only 12psi...

10-15kw is not too bad, I suppose I was expecting less than that, but I decided that I am going to wait until DrDrift next visit next month, to do everything at the same time, and yes I will definatelly be buying a fuel pump asap,

Funny thing is that even at 1.1bar made 170kw and the AFR were fine, so at only 12 psi i should be fine.
