Theyre slightly smaller, weight wise than some of the big landy's and patrols with a GM Atlas truck motor in em. Basically the softy-poofta version of the military one, dunno if theyre any good as an off road vehicle I'd have too ask some of the 4wd nuts at work when they get back from their Tassie trip if they know what theyre like.

Cant see them landing them here for much less than 75-85k though and thats not exactly cheap and probably not that most owners would take them too play where rocks, sticks and mud could gunk em up.

The low down says GM Aust may be selling the H3 by mid to end next year. The H3 at the motor show is on the Holden stand to gauge public reaction and is a 3.7l 5-cyl petrol.

Very basic and SMALL in the driver/passenger compartment and ugly as a hatfull!

Holden is definately on something. Look at their recent decision making skills:

Should we import new Vauxhall VX220 Turbo as an HSV model? Nah, no one wants a 4cyl turbo HSV... So we won't import this Lotus-Elise-but-cheaper-and-turbo-charged at all. But wait! Should import the 4cyl turbo Astra VXR as an HSV? YES!!! Everyone wants a 4cyl turbo HSV!!! :D I'm confused...

Import the new Vauxhall Corsa (Barina)? No, we'll import the Daewoo Kalos instead! Import the next generation Vauxhall Vectra? No, we'll import the Daewoo Tosca instead. We've got all the 4wd hardware to make a quality 4x4 like the Ford Territry. Nah, can't be bothered, we'll import the Daewoo Captiva instead. Everyone hates the Daewoo Lacetti (Viva), right? Of course they do, so we'll import that too!

Great! We've got HEAPS of Daewoo's on sale now! We're sure to reach the top of the sales charts now that we've replaced our entire quality European line up with the same Korean line up that sent Daewoo bankrupt!

So now the entire Holden badge has been cheapened by inferior Korean product. Hmmm... The only thing we're missing is an American car... Cadillac CTS-V? Chevrolet Corvette Z06? Nah, in this time of environmental conciousness and high oil prices, what we need is the new HUMMER H3!!!

:) SEROIUSLY HOLDEN, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING!?!?!?!

These decisions are even worse than Toyota's "let's sell the Avalon instead of the Chaser" decision...

P.S. Nice VL ctjet, I like it a lot! Pity about the rims, though...

Ahahaha......classic but soo soo true

can't the government just flat out ban the f**king things? We don't need more stupid large cars on the road.

Whenever you are driving around and struggle to see around one to see what else is happening in front of you (basic hazard avoidance), or everybody time you see somebody struggling to get into a "regular" carpark or worst still take up two carparks in a crowded shopping centre you just think "you stupid f**king selfish c**t"

:( SEROIUSLY HOLDEN, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING!?!?!?!

Thinking with their wallets - I bet they don't have a slump in sales due to these Daewoo brands and they also save heaps of money compared to bringing in Euro GM cars.

The Viva is selling only about 1/2 what Holden expected, but Barina is (unfortunately) still selling strongly. :( I was so hopeful after the Barina's breif sales slump after the press release concerning it's 2 star safety rating, but it seems to have sprung back to it's 1200 units per month sales norm...

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
