Hi all,

I thought I might just brag a little about my efforts at the track tonight. I rocked up pretty late to the 7-11 session as i woke up at about 8:15 from an afternoon nap. Thankfully I had the car prepaird and ready to go. So I drove down to willowbank, got through the front gates, changed my plugs, and lined up for my first pass...

I put a little bit of timing in through my hand controller as my current tune is very safe and I have a bit of headroom to play with... Anyway I dropped the tyre pressure in my M/T ET street radials (255 50 16) to 16psi and i was ready to go...

Did a bit of a soft burnout as i didnt want to break anything with the sticky tyres and staged up...

I took onboard about 5500rpm and let the clutch out softly and got a bit of wheelspin of the mark and went down the track full steam ahead...My mates where waiting at the time box with thumbs up so i knew it was a good pass - [email protected] with a 1.8 60 foot...

I was pretty happy but i knew the car had more in it...

On inspection my boost dropped off a bit due to the timing advance so i played with my AVCR to get boost back upto 19psi...

I went back and this time put a little bit more extra timing in as well as a pinch of extra fuel and did a bit of a bigger burnout...I staged up and dialed up about 6500-7000rpm on board and let the clutch go fairly nicely, and the car just planted its arse end down and took of like a m0therfarker! As I was crossing the line i noticed that my shiftlight went off as well...i thought i may have gone up a tad in mph...

When i went back to the timebox my mates where cheering and told me that i reeled of an [email protected]!!!

Whats more impressive I thought was the 1.6 60foot and not breaking anything!!!

Well thats my story for tonight, there is PLENTY more left in the current setup, all I have to do now is play with my cam gears add a bit more boost and hopefully I'll crack an easy 10 at around the 135mph mark on 21ish psi and pump fuel!

A big thanks goes out to Ben and Rob at East Coast Customs for helping me out today with my suspension setup, without their help there is no way I could have done the 1.6 60 footer at the track! Thanks fellas!

Well done dude, saw the pass! What MPH did you clock half track?? - managed 103mph in mine but had bent the tailshaft so had to back off at 3/4 track. Interested to see how it compared to your timeslip considering your time!

aaah sweet, you didnt happen to capture it on tape did ya?? lol

Im spewing I didnt take out a vid camera!

What car where you in?

I was doing 100-101mph half track which is suprising, i thought I would have done more as the top end gain seems pretty big considering my shitty power curve...

I should be going back to the track on the 25th if all goes according to plan with 30-60rwhp hike in power midrange and hopefully 80-100rwhp of top end power in my power curve with a bit more boost and a play with my cam timing.

I dont know if i should spend the bucks and get adjustable rear camber arms in order to drop my 60 footer into the 1.5s...

Top work dude, you've had this car ages now, and it keeps getting faster

I dont know if i should spend the bucks and get adjustable rear camber arms in order to drop my 60 footer into the 1.5s...

Would help fetching that elusive 10 in conjunction with your power gains, and in the grand scheme of things is $220 bucks really that much?

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
