hahaha all good ffor the bad qaulity pics man... i guess we can wait untill it hits front page in the papers 17 yr old wraps gtr round pole..... those pics shud b better quality.... ill wait till then... wont b too long..

I think pple are takin this killing himself joke too far. It's turned sour, like a bad joke cliche.

Nice ride btw snatch, respect the car and the car will respect you back. Perform as one, drive safe :ninja:

P/s: Everyone is jealous, some pple just can't take it as well as others :(

ignore these jelous fools, they WISH they had a GTR haha, im jhelous but hey, doesnt mean im gunna giv u shit. just make sure you donmt crash it and prove them right ! :(

haha dude at work said that as soon as i got my 32 i would crash it, he got a VX S pack commy and within 2 weeks wrapped it round a tree, my 32 is still pristine :ninja:

Of course people will be jealous, because they have worked for their cars & therefore respect them. Having a mum to buy it for him and pay his insurance he hasn't got that initiative, snatch you will probably say you do/will respect it but we'll just see how quickly those points run out.

Of course I wish you good luck with it and hope it goes well but like I said in the first thread you made, don't come to us if something gets f**ked up.

The good natured ribbing is starting to get not so good natured - cut the dude some slack ppl, welcome snatCh and good luck with the ride.

Hey Snatch

Ignore the BS.

Don't give up on the forum there are some absolutely top people out there.

I have seen best and worst but the best far outway the shiite.

Keep at it, learn to drive it over time. I am pretty sure your not Micheal Shumacher so it aint gunna happen over night.

Just remember you're running on your $$$ and your smarts.

Keep the shiny side up and prove the doubters wrong.

Cheers

i can tell you now im jealous..

midnight purple 33 GTR was what i was going to sell my gts-t and buy...

good luck with it champ, join SAUWA, bring it out on cruises and other events, and make all the other sub-GTR owners jealous. :)

very nice ride, be careful though and enjoy the ride.

I also thought that the R33 GTR's had projector style lights for the lowbeams?? or is that the v-specs or something??

Series 3 33 GTR's got the projector low beam.. very hot looking!

couldnt agree more,

PS: GTS-T's are easier to crash than the GTR's, they stop slower, corner worse and get to 180 just as fast as your GTR. Just dont get over confident (AHG) when u take your friends out for a ride. Do all the risky s**t (u know u will) by yourself. GTR's are one of the easiest cars to drive fast, that can be a good thing and a baaaddd thing. You're way more mature than some ppl replying to this post so I wont judge your luck by your age.

I mean if you crash it because of inexperience, cop trouble (GTR>P-plater>??), stuff breaks & you can't afford to get it fixed, that sort of thing. I wasn't being a smart arse, I was just saying to take what's been said by other people seriously, it's responsibility now.

Of course I could save it because I don't really give a shit about the details & I know I could chop you in my gtst anyway :) But I did mean it because now your into a different side of the driving world & even as a skyline driver respresenting the responsible enthusiasts amongst us.

    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
    • You are all good then, I didn't realise the port was in a part you can (have!) remove. Just pull the broken part out, clean it and the threads should be fine. Yes, the whole point about remote mounting is it takes almost all of the vibration out via the flexible hose. You just need a convenient chassis point and a cable tie or 3.
