Don't know if you are into porsches, but I can't stop drooling over this thing!

It was said that Nissan is bench marking the new GTR against the 997 turbo, although this one is a bit more extreme than the standard one, it should give you some ideas of how good the new GTR need to be.

Heres some stats:Displacement 3,600 cm³

Bore x stroke 100 x 76.4 mm

Max. power 580 hp / 427 kW at 6,000 rpm

Max. torque 700 Nm at 4,850 rpm (from 3,200 – 6,000 rpm permanently more than 670 Nm)

Max. boost 1.2 bar

Max. revs 7,100 rpm

Power output per liter 161.11 hp per liter capacity

and what do you think of the colour? white is the new black?

what black then?

if you look at the current german aftermarket tunning scene, every major tuners all seem to have a few white colour based project cars, whereas a couple of year ago black or silver was THE colour.

i must say i do like it. i like a lot of new cars in white. like the mazda 6 and the ba/bf xr's. just something about them that looks racey. like a mines gtr.

and pfft, its not that quick. my mates fully sick stock as a rock 3 speed auto 1977 chrysler galant thats only running on 3 cylinders could beat it...... if they were both dropped of a cliff.

can't compare the new GTR to this... because this is an after market tuned 997.

Compare a Nismo tuned GTR to this porsche.

yes true, a nismo GTR or mines GTR would be a better comparison. but there are much similarities between the 997 Turbo and new GTR. 3.6l flat six versus (rumoured) 3.6-3.8 V six, both rev to about 7000rpm as opposed to previous GTRs higher rew limiter, weight is not dissimilar either at 1600kg give or take, and of course twin turbo and 4wd.

pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft - my 1982 honda civic will destroy that thing..............................

for like 0.02 seconds before the driver of that porsche realises that im racing him....

was only using Nismo as an example.

I believe the Mines R34 GTR was around the 650hp?? I reckon it would be a decent match for this Porsche

Thought Best Motoring had a similar test in the past (911 turbo vs tuned GTR) Any idea how much a Mines GTR costs? Not 200,000 euros I'm sure!

And was certainly a good point! Was just expanding on it. :nyaanyaa:

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
