mate it depends how u drive. drive like a dickhead there gonna pull u over and f*k u for anything drive normal i highly doubt them pulling you over for anything but seriously i wouldn't risk driving a turbo car without the appropriate license u get caugh u loose your license not points!!! my opinion just buy a R33 GTS not a GTST and just cruise. dont get me wrong the NA's still go fairly hard...

i would say a quite a few... getting pulled over is part of owning the car. Some poeple get lucky and never get pulled over, and others get pulled over several times a week. A lot depends on how outrageous the car looks, where you drive it and especially how you drive it.

I think they changed the laws for p plates since i was on P's... it used to be just a $100 fine for exceeding the power to wieght rule, but it might have changed now.

Problem is P plates only get 5 points to play with, so if you stuff up at all, you're in trouble. Get two unroadworthy fines and that's it... licence gone

But its your call on whether or not your up for playing cat n mouse with the fuzz for the next couple years

yeh there are alot of em but meh i've only been pull over once and that was because i stupidly ran a red but the officer was a sikflamin mongrel and let me off. honestly just get a GTS dont risk it..

yeh, well the car im looking at, is completely stock, ride height and everything, i thought that if i didnt drive crazy in busy and public places lol, id be fine, im from the vermont south area, and i hardly see cops, but then again once i get a car, im pretty sure ill drive everywhere my gf wants me drive haha. about the gts thing, like i know its all legal n stuff, i just reckon they are gay, like how many people would be like why the f**k are you driving a non turbo skyline, you get me? plus i wanna kill all my mates commodores >_<

cheers, Kv.

plus i wanna kill all my mates commodores :D

Dont get a GTSt then... that form of thinking will get you into big big trouble. You say it as a joke now, but you know theres an element of truth in it. And dont bend over backwards for a g/f, being a doormat is very unattractive to women

by the way anyone tell u how much times u gotta fill up petrol with a turbo car. if ya aint got money forget bout it i go through a full tank in 3 days its killing me i wanna go get it checked out. IT NOT EVEN RUNNIN RICH!!!

Get a GTS-T most cops don't know their arse from their elbow when it comes to grey imports or cars in general. Drive sensibly and they'll never have reason to look closely at your car.

Then again you want the GTS-T to 'kill my mates commodores' so fines and loss of license is probably in your future no matter what you drive.

haha lol i wont, will keep everything on the down low. lol

OH BTW ! if i get the car n everything, can i be really COOl like you guys and come on really COOL cruises with yallllllllll? hahah lol

i drive a gtst on p's, wen i first got it i coped plenty of attention from the cops but not anymore, dont drive like an idiot and drive a legal car then getting pulled over shouldnt be too painful. the cops like it stock...work your car and u will get pulled over all the time...

hahaha lol, man im getting my mummy to pay for my petrol !!

haha f**k yeh

im pretty sure ill drive everywhere my gf wants me drive haha.

reminds me of my ex trying to change me.....it was like trying to cage a wild animal in order to tame it - no one can tame the emsta....

agreed with ctjet - just watch tokyo drift at the start where the bimbo goes "i thought u loved me?" - if i was the guy driving the viper, id have stopped, smacked the bitch silly and told her to get the f**k out :D

and thinking about whooping some commodore ass is the wrong way of thinking about what car you wanna get. That is only going to get you in trouble with the law or get you killed. Think about it before you do something like that. Everyone here has been on their p's and everyone here has done something stupid (atleast once) - so we speak from experience

Get a GTS not a GTST. You won't be worrying about being pulled over, fuel will be better, they are cheaper to begin with and still have plenty of power.

GTS' are still very nice cars and there are a few on here. You don't want to be spending on your money on fuel as you will suddenly have an influx of "new" friends who want to be driven everywhere and will give you sod all for petrol. They are also plenty powerful enough for a new driver.

Forget about lining up against other cars on the road, don't become a statistic.

My 2c.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
