Nando passing the line in china with the mechanics losing their shit

Seems to go against the tide of supposed public opinion that nando is the devil and Hamilton is the be all and end all of sport at any point in history. I think its more a case of Gonzo pissing off the Mclaren managment rather than the whole team conspiring against him.

Yeh, appears as though internally the guys on Alono's crew are probably all for him getting a result. Tales are that those that work close to him are fans...but appears maybe the words between Denniss and him of late have pushed things too far.

Has to be some truth to the fact that so many drivers have failed in a seat at McLaren that there has to be some truth to the chosen driver thing

jus make it looook like an acccident, comprende???

Mebe he could get some tips from Herr Schumacher Snr's dirty trick playbook- Esp. the chapter titled 'How To Understeer And Make It Look (sort, kinda....if ur dense) Like It Wasn't What You Wanted The Car To Do' re: Monaco

And...its funny how different angles tell different stories. This one makes old Lewis look a little more reckless then the vid from the crowd

LH is a scum bag.

Cant believe what he said in a channel 10 interview, he said that he was doing everything he could behind the safety car to adhere to the rules. He was also going on about how people had the nerve to put any blame on the crash onto him, he then went on to say it makes him think 'is this really a place I want to be (refering to F1)'. Can you believe this shit??

The interview made me sick, he felt so sorry for himself.

MS may have the records behind him now, but HE could have done well to study drivers of yore that had speed and race-craft by the bucket load (ref: Senna, GV, James Hunt etc etc) but managed not to come across as a shifty SS-Operative in training :)

Schuey didnt cry and was pretty open about how single minded he was...i recently read that his only regret was the JV incident. Now we have Louise who seems to be a pretty nice guy who cant fight his own battles (probably never had to) and as soon as he gets out of the car runs to the press and cries foul

When questioned about his 2008 team mate, LH told The Sun: "I don't mind who it is. I have beaten every one of my team-mates in the past."

Time to line up Mark Webber :)

Make it an offroad race and Webs could be in with a chance. He spends most of his time going across the grass!

if ball size was directly proportional to skill level and success, than jaques villeneuve would be at least 5 time world champ... that guy had some stones on him

Tru, but then the prob with JV is that his genitalia were attached to his forehead, impeading his vision, hence his glasses, hence his lack of championships...

Well, i stand by my old post. If JV wasnt that impressive then neither is Louise as she has done only marginally better in her first year. Albeit LH didnt have the benefit from running in a series as competitive as Indycar...well i dont thing GP2 could be considered as competitive

watched the race late last night. lewis you big girl... what can i say. I think dave chapelle said it best: "tough break N..." lol.

he turned out to be a bit of a baby. I hope kimi smashes them all. about fkign time he won a wdc. he's been oh so close before it would be great to see him get it done.

btw how bad was webbers strategy.?!?! he could have easily finished top 5. all he had to do was make his one stop half way through and put on drys, then stick with them to the end. knuckle heads. plus he was very slow at the end.

If FA wins and they are equal on points then Loiuse loses on countback of GP wins.

Come on Massa is all i can say. There are things abotu Kimi as a race driver i dont like. But as an individual i love him. So i just hope Massa can get out there and race damn hard with the Mac boys and test them whilst Kimi sneaks a victory...and let the chips fall where they may.

Escaping that...i want Alonso to get up...just to annoy the hell out of the team that has annoye dme for years....lol, yeh its a DC thing.

And great to see DC qualify well and race hmm ok. Strategy hurt the RBR boys again. But, its all experience from running at the right end of the grid.

So pumped for next season already. If RBR are solid and Adrian and the team can get the job done in the shop...well post TC i think Webber and DC wont struggle as much as some drivers.

there was an interesting point made somewhere that webber was very vocal about hamiltons dodgy safety car antics in the week leading up to the hearing, but when it came time to present he was suddenly very quiet. obivously he decided not to make waves with hamilton and maclaren could this be a sign that there is a deal to be done for webber as hamiltons team mate? could make sense. alonso could feel red bull is the place to go next year. they certainly have some dough behind them to pay him, and their star is on the rise. a full on newey built car, renault engines, and perhaps most importantly he would be gauarenteed of being the No1 head honcho and all praised big kahuna in that team. on the flip side maclaren know webber can drive, and he hasn't really burnt any bridges with them in the past (putting aside the mercedes sports car shit), I'm sure he is not so full of ego that he could handle having a younger team mate who is as quick or quicker than him, plus he would be pretty cheap and free up some cash. he could be a good influence on hamilton. god I hope this is more than just me tugging myself.

    • I'm looking for some real world experiences/feed back from anyone who has personally ran a EFR7670 with a 1.05 exhaust housing or a .83 I'm leaning towards the .83 because its a street car used mostly for spirited driving in the canyons roads. I"m not looking for big numbers on paper. I want a responsive powerband that will be very linear to 8000 rpm. I dont mind if power remains somewhat flat but dont want power to drop off on top. The turbo I've purchased is a 1.05, although the mounting flange T3 vs T4 and internal vs external waste gates are different on both housings, I not concern about swapping parts or making fabrication mods to get what I want. Based on some of the research I've done with chat gpt, the 1.05 housing seems to be the way to go with slightly more lag and future proofing for more mods but recommends .83 for best response/street car setup. AI doesn't have the same emotions as real people driving a GTR so I think you guys will be able to give me better feed back 😀
    • Surely somebody has one in VIC. Have you asked at any shops?  Is this the yearly inspection or did you get a canary?
    • This is where I share pain with you, @Duncan. The move to change so many cooling system pieces to plastic is a killer! Plastic end tanks and a few plastic hose flanges on my car's fail after so little time.  Curious about the need for a bigger rad, is that just for long sessions in the summer or because the car generally needs more cooling?
    • So, that is it! It is a pretty expensive process with the ATF costing 50-100 per 5 litres, and a mechanic will probably charge plenty because they don't want to do it. Still, considering how dirty my fluid was at 120,000klm I think it would be worth doing more like every 80,000 to keep the trans happy, they are very expensive to replace. The job is not that hard if you have the specialist tools so you can save a bit of money and do it yourself!
    • OK, onto filling. So I don't really have any pics, but will describe the process as best I can. The USDM workshop manual also covers it from TM-285 onwards. First, make sure the drain plug (17mm) is snug. Not too tight yet because it is coming off again. Note it does have a copper washer that you could replace or anneal (heat up with a blow torch) to seal nicely. Remove the fill plug, which has an inhex (I think it was 6mm but didn't check). Then, screw in the fill fitting, making sure it has a suitable o-ring (mine came without but I think it is meant to be supplied). It is important that you only screw it in hand tight. I didn't get a good pic of it, but the fill plug leads to a tube about 70mm long inside the transmission. This sets the factory level for fluid in the trans (above the join line for the pan!) and will take about 3l to fill. You then need to connect your fluid pump to the fitting via a hose, and pump in whatever amount of fluid you removed (maybe 3 litres, in my case 7 litres). If you put in more than 3l, it will spill out when you remove the fitting, so do quickly and with a drain pan underneath. Once you have pumped in the required amount of clean ATF, you start the engine and run it for 3 minutes to let the fluid circulate. Don't run it longer and if possible check the fluid temp is under 40oC (Ecutek shows Auto Trans Fluid temp now, or you could use an infrared temp gun on the bottom of the pan). The manual stresses the bit about fluid temperature because it expands when hot an might result in an underfil. So from here, the factory manual says to do the "spill and fill" again, and I did. That is, put an oil pan under the drain plug and undo it with a 17mm spanner, then watch your expensive fluid fall back out again, you should get about 3 litres.  Then, put the drain plug back in, pump 3 litres back in through the fill plug with the fitting and pump, disconnect the fill fitting and replace the fill plug, start the car and run for another 3 minutes (making sure the temp is still under 40oC). The manual then asks for a 3rd "spill and fill" just like above. I also did that and so had put 13l in by now.  This time they want you to keep the engine running and run the transmission through R and D (I hope the wheels are still off the ground!) for a while, and allow the trans temp to get to 40oC, then engine off. Finally, back under the car and undo the fill plug to let the overfill drain out; it will stop running when fluid is at the top of the levelling tube. According to the factory, that is job done! Post that, I reconnected the fill fitting and pumped in an extra 0.5l. AMS says 1.5l overfill is safe, but I started with less to see how it goes, I will add another 1.0 litres later if I'm still not happy with the hot shifts.
