hey guys, i'm looking into getting a full white line suspension package for my 33 gtst. Has anyone fitted one of these complete kits and can give me some feedback. good, bad, value for money etc. basicly the car is a road car, but i'll also want to a bit of dragin at the creek, and maybe a couple of track days a year

if any of ur mates have the video "Serious Performance 5" it has a gtst comparison with other gtsts with different performance mods, and one of these cars had the full whiteline kit fitted. To sorta sum it up, the car with the whiteline kit beat other more powerful cars round the track simply because they couldnt get the power down.

And from memory the car had a boost increase (12psi), FMIC, POD filter with partition, and an exhaust and it managed 5.66 0-100. Quicker than all of the other more powerful cars, basically because of the suspension setup.

I'm pretty sure the guy who used to own it was "ONARUN", and now I think "2rismo" owns it? But Im not sure, sorry :)

I got the whiteline front camber kit for my R33 recently to go with the cusco tension rod and cusco rear camber arm. Great value! I bought mine through the web page. It was easy and the parts were delivered within 4 days. I also got the pineapples but haven't got round to fitting them yet! Next I want the Adj. whiteline swaybars. The guys at whiteline said they will make the single biggest difference/improvement in the handling of the car.

i had the "fullworks" kit fitted to my WRX and im close to doing something similar with the ER34 soon.

I was really happy with the kit. Ride wasn't bad, passengers would often go unnoticed of the firmer ride on distant trips (to the snow for eg). Going through the nasho, the suspension was never unsettled by the bumps - everything just worked well.

on the track, the WRX had *better* turn in, considering its an AWD car and camber settings were totally nuetral (i went for best tyre wear :P), but it had a tendancy for oversteer with some throttle control. i was managing 1:12's on RSpec tyres in this configuration but with some more tuning to camber i reckon i could've dropped by another 1 or 1.5 seconds with better turn in...

i have "the works" whiteline kit on my r33 gtst and its been the best money iv spent to date

included:

bilstein shocks and springs

front anti sway bar

rear anti sway bar

castor and camber correction rods

new bushes front and back

hicas lock kit (which i didnt get, no real point on the street)

the guys i all my car suspension work done at did a few strengthening of the diff cradle and such to really get the axle tramp down to a minimum (basically there is no tramp any more on hard take offs)

my car came standard with a rear tower brace, need to get the front tower brace to "box" the whole thing in

now, theres no point going all out on suspension if u dont get tyres to compliment the package

so, while there i had some azenis semi comp tyres installed and the overall improvement is AMAZING

Yep that's my car on the vid (HEAD SWELL!!)

Handling is awesome, make sure you get good tyres too as suggested here. Makes awesome difference too. FM901's and the like make excellent choices for what you wanna do with your car.

hi... for what it's worth i got this kit on my car a few months ago, made the world of difference. genuinely happy with the $$$ spent, the handling is excellent and no complaints. one word though - i hear that bilstein aren't making the shocks for R33's any more, i had to wait 7 weeks for them to come from germany and apparently that was part of the last shipment. maybe a few places have stock in reserve though. good luck!

I had Whiteline swaybars and bushes on my Commodore and the thing handled like it was on rails. After that it actually went better through the twisties than my mate's VFR800 motorcycle (if anyone knows this bike, that is no mean feat!). He was able to shoot out of the corners quicker, but if we went into the corner at the same time, I had to back off to avoid riding up his arse :)

I'll be getting at least the swaybars again for the Skyline as soon as I can afford them (I'm not so sure that the bushes are worth the money at this point). One question I have though is that the adjustable rate bars seem to be "smaller" than the extra heavy duty ones, and yet still cost more? What's the point of getting the adjustable ones then, when the uber-thick ones cost less? I had the uber-thick ones on the Commodore and I never wanted them any thinner under any sort of driving conditions.

yer.. one day i'd like to on my skyline.. and for the price ($1500 i think it is) I think it would be a very worthwhile upgrade if you have stock or even some japanese aftermarket stuff, which might not always what you want (still not sure about my Zeals)

what are people getting for the 1/4 with a few mods and the full whiteline kit??

The whiteline swaybars made a world of difference to the handling of my Supra. However, you should know these are solid bars instead of the hollow bars made by Cusco and Tanabe. These are more than twice the weight of the original hollow bars on my Supra but for the money, nothing beats them.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?

    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
