Hi Guys,

I have for sale a nismo GTR 4 point belt. It's a drivers side kit. It says BNR34 on the box but it will work just the same in 32 or 33 in fact pretty much any car. It's a great belt as the rear half unclips so if you have to put people in the back, or a baby seat or whatever you just have to unclip it not uninstall it! It's brand new in the box with everything included. I bought it on a whim as I've always wanted one, but I already have a 4 point willans belt in my GTR and promised myself not to spend on the GTST so it's up for sale.

Price is: $410 + $20 postage for most of aus. or pick-up in sydney, northside after 23rd Jan.

A few quick questions

Is it a 50mm or 75mm wide belt?

Do each of the belt ends have the clips that easily detach from the eye bolts? (you cannot see this easily in the photos)

Could it be ADR approved - the belt catch looks like it is the normal belt style which is usually ARD compliant (my current 6 point harness has a quick release catch that is FIA and not ADR approved)

Awesome! I didn't think you could buy these Nismo/Willans harnesses.

These are definitely 2inch not 3inch. And yes have quick release clips.

Here's the 3inch model (I can't find them for sale anywhere though).

Isnt that considered a 3point harness coz the shoulder straps join to one at the back?

Anyway nice item! would be interested if it didnt cost as much as a takata.. Haha

hi mate,

firstly please forgive the slow reply. I'm still in japan and my only net access is at cafes. It's the 2inch belt (only one currently available). It does have the unclippable ends so you can unclip the whole thing from the eye bolts easily. The buckle is an ADR approved type. whether or not is has specific ADR approval I couldn't say, but it does meet international standards for seat belts for road use. like you say the cam buckle type are NOT ADR approved though.

as for whether or not it's 3 or 4 point. according to nismo and willans it's 4 point. basically the points refer to how many anchorages there are. and there are 4 of them.

it's an awesome belt and perfect for the street/track car as you can use it on the street too without too much hassle.

and justin: thanks for the pic/info. yes it was hard to get! but you know me, always searching out the cool jap gear. I was watching an option time attack DVD and so many of the cars were using this exact belt, and even this week at fuji a lot of the saurus cars had them as they are good on track, and good for street too. >_<

Hi

I am keen on the the Nismo belts. please contact me on [email protected] or prefer call 0438167207

Thankyou

Hi Michael. Yep, will fit R33 GTST no problem, It says BNR34 kit on it, but to be honest it will just as easily fit in any skyline and most other models too. there is nothing that makes it "GTR specific". GGG, email sent.

  • 2 weeks later...

still got this. had a lot of people ask for my details etc, but no one has ponied up the dough yet, or rocked up on my front door step to pick it up. so at the moment it's anyones.

lol, yeah they are nice kit! they look very nice with a stock interior. that nismo grey matches well with the black/grey/blue of skyline interiors.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
