Officer - "we Heard The Screech And Saw Your Car"

Recommended Posts

so the other night my mate and i were goign to his house.

We are sitting at the lights (over the northside of bris). My mate in his VT did a burnout, straight afterwards i turned off to take a shortcut to where we were going. this car follows me into the backstreets. so i guess that its a cop and drive on my best behaviour. 2 minutes later he pulls me up. and says "Why did you do a burnout back there" to which instantanously me and my other mate replied "it wasnt me/us it was the white VT". the cop stands there for a couple of seconds dumbfounded and then replies "Oh we heard the screech and saw your car, well drive safe." what b|_|LLsh@t. how ridiculous is that. atleast i didnt get fined THAT time

bloody cops

b*llshit yes...get used to it, just think yourself lucky you weren't fined.

Note you:

- Didn't do the burn out

- Drove responsibly afterwards

- Didn't smart off to the cop

You handled it perfectly and got the result you should have. We want to cops busting down on the street hoons. While we can be blamed by mistake like in this case, when its handled right, what happened to you should happen.

I concour.

But if you go look at the other thread where seems a few skyliners are having a bit of fun on our streets, kinda understandable.

Thing is the hoon laws are reasonable suspcion. So if the cops really thought you did it, the law is there to back them up.

OH NO SKYLINE DRIVERS ARE BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AGAIN

The only reason they pic on us is because we drive imports, if it was a aussie made car then they would probably said good burnout mate, wat r u running under their.

OH NO SKYLINE DRIVERS ARE BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AGAIN

That is a load of rubbish.

Its only because of the type of car it is, its a 2 door turbo charged RWD. Doesnt matter where its from, they are still going to pull you up regardless.

I bet SS commodore drivers do or have copped in the past.

I bet throughout the decades, the 'hoon' car of choice has been 'picked on' and pulled up more than any. E.g. monaros and gt's in the 70's, commodores and the early turbo things in the 80's and so on.

Doesnt matter where its from!

You should have said but officer, this is a GTR its 4wd, it cannot do skids...

Or you could try, officer its has traction control, it cant do skids...

Or you could try, officer i dont know how to do skids...

Only reason you got the blame is because the stupid VT couldn't produce any smoke. Tell your mate to have the common decency to at least smoke it up next time and that way you won't get the blame.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
