How many ponies did it produce?

500 before it blew the welsche plug out, hasnt had full tune done since

How could that happen, unless the joiner is before the turbo (intake pipe)?

yeh intake pipe, the blue 90deg one in the pic

Has anyone seen a low mount tubalar manifold with external gate? I already have height clearances issues and am afraid a high mount manifold will exacerbate the problem :(

I realise that external gate on low mount will be pushing it for clearance down there but thought someone out there might have come up with a manifold design I can buy off the shelf :P

Clearance on a low mount is not the only problem, you also have to consider accessibility of the bolts/nuts/hoses/etc for installation/fitment.

I really wanted a low mount manifold, but once i starting thinking about installation, etc. i decided to go high mount. Most high mount manifolds (if built properly) would have the turbo sitting below the level of the cam covers, so i don't think clearance is an issue; unless you're fitting a 800+hp turbo.

Only looking at fitting a GT35R and by clearance I meant for everything.. including ratchet and spanner access :P

The majority of the manifolds I have found when looking about have the turbo sitting a good couple of inches above the cam cover. If anyone knows of any specific high mount manifolds that aren't too high.. please, enlighten me :D

I am using a custom low mount manifold with a garret 35/40 and 48mm external wastegate, it has clearance everywhere, but it is a bit of a tight squeeze.

I preffer the low mount for lower engine bay heat temps as the hot air can escape out the bottom of the car. All factory turbo setups are low mount, there is a good reason for this.....

Im making my own low mount, GT35R, Got my flanges all drawn in cad (as close to match ported as possible-RB26), & laser cut using 12mm plate for all 3 flanges & steam pipe bends. Will take some pics when I start it. Do have a spare set of flanges to if anyone is interested, also have the cad drawing to get more cut if needed.

bearclaw? is that the model one up from the cameltoe and two up from the mooseknuckle? (you know..."mooseknuckle, because cameltoe has an ugly sister") (sorry)

just ordered the ATI damper i've been umming and aahing about, $500 landed on special from Summit Racing in the US. best i could find was about $745 here, if anyone's interested get in while the dollar is flying high.

cheers

hey wat throttle body do u run with the greddy style plenium ?

80 or 90mm ?

also for those with aftermarket comps do u use the MAF sensor ? or do i need a Q45AFM or a Z32 afm ?

also

i need to know what turbo + manifold i should get ? - high mount or lowmount in a R31 skyline.

internal or external waste gate?

i was considering this.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...A:IT&ih=014

but i was told to stay away from it ?

also going to be runnin tomei poncams.

i think the greddy style ones are for q45 TB's but you can get an adapter for a stock TB

and i would definately stay away from that turbo

Also for aftermarket TB's and fuel rails you can try Buzz Engines in Brisbane. They have done some nice work. http://www.buzzengines.com/

I need to get a decent fuel rail for the 26/30 as I'm running Delphi 680cc injectors and the O ring setup is not optimal with the GTR rail.

thats also something id like to make on our cnc's when they are up and running properly some billet fuel rails....im in love with these machines and they arent even setup fully and running...however next week they tell me!

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
