LoL thats true... just depends how you are... if you've worked around cars previously then should be ok, if you havn't and are dumbfounded by your motor & engine bay and cutting holes and fins and removing front bars and shit then give the workshop $250 and call it a day...

Yer and when you use an angle grinder on ur plastic front bar to cut it back to fit the cooler make sure u wear shit shoes.. as the plastic that flicked off stuck to my shoe burnt a hole in it (and my socks) and burnt my foot...

so add on another $150 for shoes

$10 for socks

30 cents for a bandaid!

Thanks for all your opinions guys its really helpful. After thinking about i think i might go with RE customs and pay the money, at the end of the day i could get it done with some help but like some ppl have said, and from my previous experience, some jobs are a b!tch and as much as i would like to put it in myself i think with something like this i really dont wanna mess it up casue i dont want to end up doing more damage then good.

Oh and i also like the idea of dropping it off in the morning and picking it up possibly that night with a fat cooler sitting on the front of it ready to suck some air.

Cheers,

Traum

but wouldnt you rather install it yourself then have the knowledge & experience of it? so you dont have to pay someone again if something needs to be done with it. Dont always think just cos a workshop did it, it will be perfect - my friends car went in for a service and the wrong oil filter was put on :|

agree

there's always a first time for everything. you might make a mistake or two but you learn from them and you'll know exactly what to do the second time you install a front mount.

don't know about you but i'd wanna do as much mods as i possibly can my myself. might not be as professional but meh, can't beat the satisfaction knowing you installed it yourself. you gain knowledge, experience etc...

each to their own i guess >_<

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
