been trying to write this all day and keep getting interrupted by people wanting me to do work... how inconsiderate!

Big thanks once again to all involved in putting these things on... finally managed to stick around for a couple of drinks afterwards and just long enough to get destroyed by the locals at pool... Kalli and I had a great time chatting with everyone so thank you once again... you're all very friendly for a bunch of hoons;)

ps. that crest on the mini wang was scary enough going over forwards... was definately a new experience to tackle it backwards lol!

I know your all very keen to see results by the amount of calls, SMS's, e-mails and PM's Snowy and I have had today. But your just going to have to wait an hour longer, because I actually had to do work @ work today. I'm 1/2 way through the results now.

Gareth is looking good!

Oh and I think that must have been someone else up on stage, cause I don't remmeber that happening. :)

I'm going to kill something with all this anticipation.....

Notes from my weird idle.

I can't find it.

I don't like it.

I hate driving it.

Tomorrow me thinks she's going to the doctors.

Cos I'm buggered if I can get the throttle body or inlet manifold off!

Stoopid cars.

Ok ive just been reading through this whole thread and looking through all the pics and i am absolutely loving the pics and vids.

Now i am new the SAU Vic Member thing so i have absolutely no idea what DECA is so if someone could explain that would be great, as it looks like so much fun i think i would like to get involved possibly in the next one either helping out or participating in the driving.

Cheers Simon

It is a day's driving at the DECA training centre in Shepparton. Courses are designed by exclusive highly talented individuals paid copius amounts of money, to test the ability of Vic Club Members. The group of 50ish cars are split in 2. 1 half do the skid pan in the first half of the morning and the other do the back tracks. They then rotate and by the time all are finished, the BBQ king is well under way for lunch.

Skid pan tracks are designed with witches hats that correspond with a set of maps given out at registration in the morning. Sometimes this is themed and has been accompanied by a themed CD (Top Gun and Starwars)

The morning sessions are 1 car at a time on any event with the afternoon congregating on the skid pan for battle sessions which are not eliminators (although have been on at least 1 I went to) but jus 2 cars up on identical witches hat courses.

Helmets are required for the back tracks but not for the skid pan and passengers can go in cars all day as long as they adhere to the same rules (helmet on the back track and sign a waiver).

Some people stay up on Friday and Saturday night which is a continuation of the day with dinner at Taco Bills, then the Yahoo Bar for drinks, followed by anything else.

One keyword for the whole weekend is............

FUN!!!!

    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
