well his partner at the time he died is all for it, mick hone his co driver is also all for it.

that HERALD SUN article seems to be a poorly edited version of the full story in MOTORSPORT news or something like that i read a week ago.

BROCK was the DAYTONA's number 1 fan and loved the culture that it invoked, those who knew BROCK the most and how he felt about the DAYTONA believe he would want it displayed for the awesome car it was not the car that claimed his life.

May sound a little morbid but i think they should show the car and not a replica. when people go to the museum and see the car they can think that was HIS car. not just a replica. If they do put a replica in the museum, what would they do with the real car?

Let it go, dont repair it, but dont wreck it. It is just so wrong to charge money to see it but, it would be like charging for admission into a cemetary. I personally would not go and see it, even if it was free to see.

The museum is in his honour, apparently. So it should have several of his cars. In which case, every car he's competed in belongs there (assuming the museum can obtain it).

Whether he died in it or not shouldn't matter. If it was just the one car by itself in a situation just about his death, then its in poor taste. But if its about his entire life, his beginning and his end are more than apt.

As for "cashing in", that's just typical News Limited bullshit. A lot of museums charge entry. Why should this one be any different? You have to pay to get in to the National Art Gallery in Canberra, which was set up on taxpayer's money yet its not as hyperbolic to go around accusing the curators of "cashing in" on hard working, true blue, taxpaying Australians when it comes to that.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
