Oz (90%)

Now we have 16 Spots Booked and that is without me driving... Guess I'll be there with Duncan to show people where to go if they would like.

Benm, Come along and bring your grear... Unfortunatly the day is fully booked but there are usually some dropouts and I'm sure that I can get you on track.

Because of the HUGE turnout we will need to be at the track between 7:30 and NO LATER than 8am or you will miss track time. Briefing by moto concepts will be at 8:45am sharp and we have to be signed up by then.

Any Drivers that haven't driven before around EC make sure you let me know if you want to go out with one of the more experienced guys in the A session before you drive yourself and I'll organise it. I can also hopefully get someone in your car when you go out also. Please let me know of this as you sign up.

Don't forget your $130 balance for the day and also bring a pen. Take as much loose gear out of your car before you arrive at the track and if you changing tyres at the track remember that you need to bring blocks to rest your car on (and be there earlier).

Include in you check list, Full tank of fuel, check to make sure tyre pressures are even, Helmut, long top (non flamable), Long Pants (non Flamable), Covered shoes, Licence, somewhere to park ya bum (seat), and most important is a bottle or two of water. I believe that the shop will be open, but it wasn't last time so might be a good idea to bring some munchies, it is also pretty pricey.

For those that don't already know, Passengers are allowed at a cost of $20 per day. They will need to clothed as a driver needs to be and I'll get them organised AFTER the drivers have all been signed up.

No Incar videoing is allowed anymore and also no drifting in groups (Dave explained this to me today and asked if I would let you all know).

Should be a top day. I'll ask Dave if we can get a quick photo at the end of the day again.

Looking forward to it,

Dan.

PS. I'm gonna be bringing Jody along if anyone else's GF/Wife/Female Mate is a bit shy.

i'll be in group B.

DANG IT about the videos... i just organised an in-car mount for mine...

Dan, i might bring bec along, get her into the passenger seat.

oh, also, i wanted to buy a helmet... any idea of cost/type that i should buy?

thats it christian, u and me in group B... GTR vs GTR !!!! :) just jk~ hehe

anyways, as for the helmets, my friends bought their helmets yesterday from a motorbike shop in parramatta.. don't know what its called but they bought helmets for $99... will ask the address and post it back up...

:)

Head along to a motor-bike shop, you'll get one around that price.

Try different brands though, they all have different shapes and some will fit some ppl better than others.

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
