Sorry for the hold up and the late announcement of this special cruise, but i can finally announce the first annual BSM YSA cruise will be held on Sunday the 25th of March starting at Holly Reserve (corner of Doctors rd and States rd Morphett Vale) at 1:00 oclock.

There is plenty of parking around the oval so all SAU members are welcome.

Please ensure you have a full tank of fuel upon arrival as this cruise will be one to remember, and cover

approx 250 klms of our world famous Fleurieu Peninsula.

Any budding photograhers amoungst us please get in touch with me and i will give you a heads up on several spots we will be stopping at along the way to get some group photos.

SAU stickers will also be available on the day, with $2 from every sticker sold getting donated towards this great cause. The route will be handed out at the start point via $2 minimum donation per car towards YSA,

and i hope all will have a enjoyable cruise thru our great south.

Cheers

Thanks Darren.

I appreciate everything you have done mate. I can print off the maps once we find out how many are coming.

I have been pre occupied lately due to personal reasons. Did you and Nathan talk at all? If not would you like to meet up asap so we can talk about the day?

Cheers again mate,

Brenton

Flick. Do you have it off regency speck? And has all the problems like dents and stuff been fixed? I want to see this car the way it is in ur sig.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM LOOOOOKKKKKSSSSSSS HOTTT

Lol regency speck. Unfortunately i have her on stockies at the moment. Other rims are gone, they were too stretched and i was going through at least 1 new tyre every couple of weeks. Other than that, all dents, cracks etc fixed and vented guards all good.

buuuut... if things go well.. i *may* have new rims before the cruise :)

Excellent.

I just wish i saw it in all its glory lik ein your sig pic.

I remember seeing your car at an Autosalon a while back and thought hmmmm nice car. Back then i didn't know a strapping young lass like yourself owned it.

Will have to come up and say G'day on the cruise.

Try and bring as many skylines as you can boys and girls.

I want this cruise to be Skyline Orientated.

Excellent.

ahh it will look that hot again soonish :P oh except for in the sig it is dumped, which is how it was when i got it, and how it was when it got defected a week later lol. It is still fairly low looking now, specially at the front, but just bit more cop friendly, seeing as though it is my daily.

Now body is all perfect paint wise, time to save for rims, then ill be happy!

Back on topic, will get some of my friends who arent on forums to bring their lines out. Know at least one is keen in his 32 gtr

Nathan. We will have your car ready. you must be out in your car for this.

Darren. I didnt get that email with the word document.

SAU Members.

I will be fine tuning the Route tonight with Mark & Julz.

It will be a nice cruise on open roads.

Now I must put it out THAT YES. Any Hero that thinks they can be cool and do "Si(k skids Uleh" Will have their plates taken down and police notified of them.

This is to support such a worthy cause and will have no holigans wreck it for anyone. LOL I sound like an old granpa.

Please tell all your mates with Skylines ot come out for a great day.

I will be fine tuning the map and trying to figure out a picture so if ppl get lost they can figure out where we are going.

If anyone has any ideas for the cruise PM Me.

& Cubes We need to talk. Or any Mod for the matter.

Over and Out.

Brenton

    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSPT male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSPT reducing bush? I am making the assumption the OEM sender is BSPT not BSPP/BSP
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
    • You are all good then, I didn't realise the port was in a part you can (have!) remove. Just pull the broken part out, clean it and the threads should be fine. Yes, the whole point about remote mounting is it takes almost all of the vibration out via the flexible hose. You just need a convenient chassis point and a cable tie or 3.
