Eh nothing fancy .. Looks like a 3 series mazda .. Suppose would be alright if its 4wd and has a semi powerful boxter in it .. looks like a feather weight at about 7-8hundred kg .. would give a few cars a good run ...

come to think of it i object to the title to this thread. 'Just When You Thought Wrx's Couldn't Get Any Uglier' implies the current batch of WRX's are ugly as sin... i find them to be quite the opposite. They look tough as hell, if anything the new EVO is a bit on the nose

aaaaanyway :D

Lets face it.....you have a point....WRX's do look great when money has been spent.

The title I believe was not knocking WRX's at the moment.....but was hinting to the fact that the next one will be F$%ked.

Its like saying....If you thought things couldn't get much worse........look at whats coming up...

You are to anal....... :sorcerer:

Hey Guys,

first post, in defense of the new 2008 WRX :pirate:

Although all of us over at RexNet are not the biggest fans,

these pictures make it look a little better

I don't mind it. Could be a lot worse.

I think that problem is that a lot of you are trying to compare it to the current model. If you have a look at it as a hatchback rocket, then it really doesn't look too bad. If it looked like a Daewoo Lanos, then you would have reason to complain.

first of all i have to say that i really hate wrx's, ANY OF THEM they are all nasty

okay so where do i begin.....

the front grill looks like its from a proton, the bonnet scoop doesnt match the car at all

the roof is too high, the back looks like a cheap lexus

the interior is disturbingly bland

jesus christ, i thought the new lancer was bad

LOL :):(

Coming from someone who drives a N/A r33... slowest skylin ever made that is a bit harsh. I really think you need to wake up to yourself before you make silly comments like that, i have a lot of time/respect for skylines, but any wrx would be better then your car. The new WRX is definetly not something thats easy on the eye, but i dont think it will be that bad once everyone gets used to it/sees it in person.

Haha

I think I am going to sell mine and either buy an Evo 10 or get an R34 GT-R at the end of this year, in which case I'd be spending a little more time on this forum :)

I think thats the problem... it *does* look like a Daewoo Lanos.

Hell it's like they're re-badged Kia Rios or some other shopping trolley like a 1999 Mazda 323 Astina hatch. I wish I had two more hands so I could give it... FOUR THUMBS DOOOOOOOWN :) I don't care whats under the hood

Its not hard to see that Subaru is copying BMW for body styling. The side of sedan wrx copys BMW 5 series, the hatch resembles 1 series.

They really have screwed it up this time (more shocking than the bug-eye version). rear of the hatch is hopeless although I can see some potentials in the sedan version in terms of looks. A new grille and a redesigned front bar from any tuner will fix the front end (headlights are not bad actually). no pictures of sedan's rear end?

Nice interior though. and im sure it will drive just fine.

that grey sedan one looks oooooookay, sort of, and why a chick test driver? Marketing it as a chicks car?

That blue one is ugly as sin, looks like a soccer mums car, id never buy one, i'll take my 17 year old GTR thanks...... and 0 - 100 in the 6 second bracket? Thats slow as!!!

Not. A. Fan. Man, I hope subaru takes note of what ppl r saying around the world...

That also looks, well, better then that other ugly POS but still, rex's have gone to the dogs.

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
