should i really be buying injectors with this setup?

i only want to run 15-16psi on my turbo with a slide hiflow to keep the engine running a long life but make decent power also.

ive stated my mods before but for pplz who dont know they consist of a fmic, 3in exhaust (trb back), pfc, bigger f/pump,pod filter. is it really worth getting an injector upgrade for say 230rwk and will the stock injectors be safe at say 92% duty cycle?

thanks guys

car is a r33gtst

im just speculating at the moment mate. but my tuner will run them on 92 thats why i wanted to know. the stock afm will flow to 230 rwk so ive heard so im not worried about that. im biulding a good quality streeter not a drag car

but still not convinced about the high duty cycle he's going to run

Personally i would not.

I would push no more than 85%... even that is on the edge. This allows for suffcient headroom.

Call it over precaution, but i certainly would let a built motor let go... or want a motor to let go

it depends on headroom in the tune, we rans cats car all 2004 at 98% duty cycle with no dramas, it is not all that smart but it is doable. Bigger injectors a better tune will usually yeild better power as you dont need the headroom precautions.

92% is fine. You will find even in cold weather it won't alter that much, maybe 93% but never near 100%. Ive ran close to 98% and constitantly monitored it. Thats living on the danger side though with one eyed glued on the PFC. I ran a 2535 turbo with a adj. fuel pressure regulator.

better to be safe then sorry i guess. only need a maximum of 440cc to get the power i want. deatschwerks are cheap but i might be risking blowin up an engine. my setup is good for a genuine 230 rwk. just confused with all these replys thats all

It depends on the tune, Ive been running a set of 555's at 95% for ages and my AFR's are a little on the rich side. I have constant lambda logging so I know its always safe.

One day ill get around to buying bigger injectors and re-tunning it but atm its happy doing what its doing.

When it comes to injector buying time I like to treat each vehicle on its own merit. Id recommend you do the same.

definitely not a good idea running them at 92% like r31Nismoid said even 85% is pushing, although many people do its not smart, can fry injector drivers, melt wiring etc which ive seen happen, 75% duty cycle is optimum but means u need even bigger injectors, if you plan of giving you car heaps for longer periods of time dont run them a 92%

i do have a heavy foot so yea i might just save up n buy some injectors too

Just get the deatschwerks, with the trade-in on your stock ones they're a bargain...also with the cost diference just get the 550's in case you change your mind about the power level.

good point. thanks mate

This would point to other problems not related to injector size or duty cycle.

    • haha don't worry I'm sue you've got more fun ahead buying a 30 year old turbo car....but at least you are in the right place to ask
    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
