haha abt how much wud a 2 dr r34 non-turbo cost?

i want the looks of the r34 without the fuel consumption of a turbo :P

best of both worlds lol

btw, reason i wanted the rb20DE NEO is cos its sposed to be the most fuel-efficient skyline every made haha

but i'm sure the rb25DE NEO wudnt be much worse on fuel rite?

you also gotta think about insurance. oh and also.. think about "the bug" turbos take to mods wel... and you can feel most of the results quickly... and you might get the BUG...

so if non turbo is the way.. then stick with it.

But if you think you can fight "the bug" and you can pay the insurance.. then go the turbo and drive nice.

oh and buy my auto

If you get a non turbo you will still go power hunting within six months, doing extractors, a noisy exhaust, pod filter. All giving you little joy for your money. Once you get sick of that you will start looking at putting a turbo motor in there. No one can fight the "more power" bug. NA should just stand for not available. end rant.....

the R34 with RB20DE NEO isn't eligible for import into Australia hence why you haven't seen any in import yards or import brokers e-mail distribution lists.

the reason why? (from memory) it did'nt meet power to weight ratio requirements set by Aust. Govt.

Yeah dude you can get what your looking for!

i recently just got a Non turbo 2 door r34 25GT from an import car yard for 15 grand

so yes the r34 25gt's come with a RB25DE NEO there fuel consumption is the best out of all skylines in does 9.4L/100kms

Lol internet stats lie to you ^

I have an R34 GT, used to have an RB25DE Neo, recently put an RB25DET Neo into it. I am getting the same fuel consumption with the turbo as I was with the non-turbo motor, both are getting about 350-400kms to a tank depending how I drive. The 25DE motor is high compression so it uses a lot of fuel anyway. Just get a turbo.

If you want good fuel consumption get a hybrid, Skylines are high performance cars. You're not gonna get good mileage from them.

i didnt think the r34 came with an rb20de neo stock?

am i missing something i through only the r32 had the shitty rb20 :D

just buy a turbo... i got a big aftermarket turbo and still get near stock if not better than stock fuel consumption

My 34 sedan is rb20de Neo >_<

time for my 2cents, i'd advise you go turbo becasue of all the above mentioned reasons, the only way you'l get better fuel economy is if you improve the power to weight ratio (make your car lighter) ive got a R33 gts-t and for a large majority of the time i drive off boost and it realy doesnt chew the fuel at all! i get 400+km's to a tank (460km's was my absolute best >_< ) ive removed my spare wheel and my sub to reduce the weight and im looking into removing more unnessisary things. best way to go about it

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
