Went the option of billet gears for the pump. Fitted up nicely I must say.

Any idea how much oil a RB20 with external cooler should take? 7 ltrs seemed to be what got the level jsut above full allowing for the oil to fill the lines and cooler.

so what else would u use apart from billet when going 4 a stronger oil pump ? whats standard ?

I think the normal ones are just steel.

I have to hookup my oil pressure guage this morning to see what oil pressure its doing at idle, should be around 80psi yes?

I think with standard oil pump on idle it should be around 40psi ish. when you are under acceleration should go up to about 80psi.

however with the different gear it will probably have greater pressure at idle...

I havent had a chance today to take it for a drive but yesterday when I checked the oil pressure came up around 2000rpm was sitting around 75 - 85 PSI on the stock guage. I'll have to try wire my guages up tomorrow if I get a chance in between calls.

Just took the car for a quick drive around the block, sounds strong.. nothing like a rb20 has the sound of a rb26!

Oil pressure was solid 75 - 85psi, didnt look at the tacho or speedo once... was listening to al lthe clunks I had forgotten about! Hmm Coilovers feels alot different to the 05 Magna I have been driving for the last 2 ½ years!

Onice I get the front bar back on and indicators I'll take it for a longer drive, I am thinking I will have to adjsut the clutch also it was a little rough/hard to go into gears.

Cheers!

I decided it was best I hookup the Idle Control Valve afterall so Spent an hour or so yesterday doing up the 4 bolts that hold it onto the plenum, Should of done this before I put the oil filter and oil cooler adapter on the engine!

Heres a lil pic of the fitting I fitted to the intake pipe just after the BOV and before the TB

Quick update, I havent had much spare time to be able to drive the car so have done a few laps around my area up and down the hills so done around 50km's so far so in total the rings have around 120km's on them so they should be clsoe to run in.

Just took the car for a spin around the block.. OMFG!!! didnt go over 0.6bar and used about 35% throttle to hold it there but...............wow! I havent felt that feeling for 2 ½ years, pulls a hell of alot harder than the rb20 did on 17psi and 100% throttle only took it too 5000rpm but dam! was scary :D :D hope to get it on the dyno next weekend to setup the boost controller and adjsut the afr's a tad noticed they were sitting around the 12.8 - 13.3 mark.

Its going to lag a bit makes positive pressure around 3700rpm and found 0.6bar around 4300rpm.

Will keep updating as I enjoy it more and get some dyno time under its belt.

Well I jsut got home from spending the morning on the dyno, Cars still at the dyno :P

Car has a slight oil leak which I will need to get fixed up during the week, but it developed a problem about 2 hrs into the tune where it would idle but not rev.

Pretty much as soon as u touch the throttle it cuts out and just stops.... weird thing is if u start it and push the pedal straight away and get it over 3500 it will run fine while not at idle :S tuner said he has seen similar with a dodgy CAS, Can anyone shed some light on what could be causing this? or if they have had this problem before and came across the fix?

Car was making 143kw and 390nm limited to 7000rpm which is all we could push it due to the fact the airlines to the wastegate liquified causing the gate to hold steady at 4.5psi woooooooooo so the hightemp airlines arent so Hightemp so I will have to source a better solution before we can try again.

Cheers

Cameron

You are due for change in luck soon....but on the topic of high mount turbo setups, there is no such thing as overkill when it comes to using teflon braided lines for wasetgates, braided and sheated lines for oil returns and supply etc etc. Then planty of heat wrap etc...everything just gets so toasty under there

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
