Hey Guys

Coming down to Melbourne for work tomorrow for 4 days and have this Friday off to do with as I please.

Did a bit of a search round the internet to find what one could do in Melbourne for cheap and found very little.

Im staying at the Crown Casino and dont really want to spend all my time spending money at the tables :P

What can one see in Melbourne this Friday???

Or is there a bit of a cruise sceen on a Thursday night or Friday night???

Does SAU VIC do weekly dinners like QLD???

Thanks Col

hey col

there is nothing on for sau vic this weekend as we have our quartely deca day up in shepparton (1.5 hours from melb).

most of us are heading up friday arvo/night. u could always come up for the saturday. there are some guys leaving melb at like 6:30am. look in vic -> events for "sau vic deca day may 12" for the details. its a pretty big event.

most of the vic club will be there. we wont be back till sunday arvo. i could be up for something sunday night.

when do u head back to qld?

it will be the best 4 days of your life!!!! if your into bars and clubs, you've only got to head into to the city and ya should have a sweet time. the Cas, is a good location to be at so would will find heaps of stuff to do. you can even ask the front desk at the hotel whats on that particular night, and they have a system that tells you. was really helpful when i stayed in town a few weeks ago.

enjoy ya stay

Do you have a car and is your Saturday free too? If Saturday is free, come up to DECA and even better if you stay up the night and hit the town.

Not sure what you are into but:

If you have a car, there are lots of nice wineries in the Yarra Valley plus some great drives towards Marysville/Kinglake.

The CBD has loads to see just from walking around and lots of small alleys with cafes/coffee shops. Grab a map from the hotel if you don't have your bearings already but from Crown, you can walk over the Yarra on the bridge that is in Ghost Rider which drops you on Flinders St. That is the CBD there so it is very close.

Sorry about the late reply, thanks for your ideas also...

Its been a very busy couple of days and today Im now in the VIC head office and then going out the afternoon with one of the local reps to see Melbourne... So im sorted now :(

I will try to spot as many skylines as possible tho, Ive seen a few so far...

when do u head back to qld?

Saturday arvo unfortunatlly...

it will be the best 4 days of your life!!!!

Its been fun so far, Ive seen the Casino in side out and ate heaps of steak.

Saw the flames on the river and have explored the convention centre inside out.

Col..

Its a shame your not here for another day as our General Meeting is on tuesday night

Food ,beer and chat..

Arhhh that would have been great!!!

Do you have a car and is your Saturday free too?

No, im traveling via Cabs everywhere or on foot, as im staying at Crown Towers its close to everything I need.

Im working Saturday for the tech expo at the convention centre next to Crown. Then I fly out in the afternoon.

Friday - head to CQ for after work beers. Cnr Little Collins/Queen St.

Sounds great, Ive been going to the casino for drinks heaps, we had a massive night Wednesday night didnt get back to the hotel until 4am. But I did check out the Peppermint or Spearmint Rinho what ever its called, That was fun... :(

Tonight I think will be a quiet few drinks, I also checked out the Belgium Beer Cafe that was awsome...

Mate check out the new skydeck in the eureka building, looks pretty sweet!

Yeah I did, it was awesome...

I liked the Beer Cafe at the bottom also...

I watched the fireworks last night also and enjoyed a beautiful pizza from "auotmatic" on the Yarra and it was great...

Back home now, enjoyed my time in Vic... Spotted a heap of skylines and took a spin in a really hot Supra out to Rosebud on Friday... :stupid:

Thanks for the suggestions, next time im coming ill give more notice and maby we can have a night out, thanks...

If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
