thanks guys.

Yeah, it could've been worse. But hey, I could've just stayed in bed.

I was just sitting at the lights waiting with the car infront. Minding my own business. *bang*

Rear quater has a fold near where the fuel filler is. Rear quater is what concerns me the most...time wise.

Bad luck Wil. On the positive side, it could have been worse mate. I would check with your insurer, but if your car is registered (or primarily used) for work purposes, then you could have the costs of a hire car reimbursed.

that sucks mate. nothing worse than being the victim of someone elses poor driving. that will be easily fixed, even the rear quarter will be no big deal. you will never even know it happend. skylines can take quite a hit in the rear without hurting the car as there is no chassis rails or structural members past the rear suspension. the boor area etc is all just crumple zone.

:wub::):P

Would be nice if the other driver was fined or had demerit points taken or had their eyes checked out or something!!

I parked my old car (lancer) in a carpark and an old lady side swiped my car while she reversed out.. she didnt even notice doing it... she never got a fine or anything.. grrrrrr .. those drivers should not be on the road!

Yeah, kinda sucks alot.

I seriously didn't think that could ever happen where it did. The road is a quiet 50km/h road.. very straight for atleast 100m before the traffic lights. It's not like you can't see the lights, you can see them from over 100m away...

9:30'ish on a Sunday morning...

Lights were red. I had been waiting for a bit already. One car infront. I guess I was lucky with not hitting the car infront.

That's a damned shame, dude, but at least you're OK.

Very true. Just a case of wrong place, wrong time. What really shits me is that I didn't *need* to be there at that time.

Ah well.

1) your car is exotic, exotics are expensive to fix :)

2) widebody time

3) pay off some of ya debt

I wish it was an exotic! Although if it was I think I would be crying right now.

Nah, no more mods.

Nothing owing on the car. Bought it outright, modded it when I could afford it. I'm an old bastard though compared to most on here. Although I look younger than nearly everyone....except doodz. lol

****EDIT: I'm a bit slow this morning... lol. :P

Careful with the old comments!:) though you're lucky you look about 15 :P

think i know which light you were at too.. is it the one at new line rd? man that is a long stretch! the dumbass must have been fiddling with his radio or something! you seriously can't miss that light! and you're right.. lucky you weren't pushed into the car in front! that'd be ten times worse, cause you'd have front bar and maybe fmic damage... and who knows what after that!

you going to get some quotes today? or no time? :P

Yep, those were the lights.

I just got back from my panel beater's. He's taken photo's and written down all the damage and parts that need replacing, and he's going to go find prices now. If all goes well the car should be with him next week. He said it'd take maybe 2 weeks.

I hope it only takes 2 weeks.

I'm "working from home" today. Damn my neck and back hurt. :\

:( bad luck man.

Yeah lucky you left enough room in front. That's what happened to Ed's R34. Hit behind same way but pushed into car in front. Write off.

That would've really sucked.

bad go wil, suppose it could have been worse. and at least not you can shave the boot lock and remove that badge

Hey man, true. I actually thought about doing that. But what happens if the boot cable breaks? It's impossible to get into the boot from the inside of the car with an r33. lol

It'd look good though. I dunno.

I am so sorry to hear that wil, poor car :(

I really hope you have no problems with having it fixed *hugs*

Me too. Can't wait till this is just a fading memory

Damn :(

Looks like sunday was a bad morning for everyone - defects for me - yay

Hope the damage isnt too bad mate

That's not good re: defects.

Some bad karma going around on Sunday. Don't know why.

If your luck you might be able to get that graffiti on the side of your car, that some vandal has done, fixed up in the same claim.

w & b ?? :bunny:

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
