Go Jack and this is going to be the biggest track day in Australia ever for GTR's and others. How many sleeps left???

I can't wait. Hey Jack I will follow you to learn this track which I have been playing over in my mind since I was there in Easter. I will then give it the button on the straight with the boost turned right up this time. I reckon with good condition and the bigger rear wheels and suspension geometry mods and more I will be 45's or better.

Its going to be an awesome event, would love to see the zed overtake me on the straight with the 'cheater' button!!! :domokun:

Seriously though, the zed is definetly give a lot of GTR's grief....

Hey that was a propper OH SHIT moment and one I am glad to have lived through with nothing more than some slightly flat spotted tyres.

Much better than say hitting a wall on the cool down lap....

Or hitting a wall because you went out with a leaking gearbox....

Actually - how many walls have you hit??? And how many balconies have you fallen off? And how many times have you been hit in the head with a lemon?

Its called being resilient...walls dont hurt. I think of pain as candy. You mark my words. I could have the worlds biggest off at PI and i would walk away, but...i struggle to tie my shoe laces so go figure :(

Lemons dont either but they sure give you a fat lip.

Hmmmm ok then 43's it is and I would be very happy with that. Yes that turn one is a big balls fast corner way more than Eastern Creek turn one. Looking at the ocean doing 280ks then hit brakes a bit then bend to right is awesome.

i watched a lesbian flick on the weekend so im pumped to smash all you C_nts... (might even do some driving!)

ive watched barrons video of hitting the wall, watched Roys video of hitting the wall and ive looked at the pictures of my last melbourne oddesy when i wrote of my silvia.....(someone is going to get hurt and need a liver transplatnt by the end of it!@)

You buy the beers Fatz and i will get the mea. I mean in a drunken stoopa refuse to pay for the meal :)

A minor off I had which was ok was Oran Park when power steering locked and I went straight ahead at the dog leg. This was no where near as scary as turn one at Philip Island and suspension unloaded and did a big wobble at big speed and though I was going for a big off.

fatz you butt monkey. the food was free for us, but our kindly little friend paid to ensure no police attendence after someone (not naming any names) scrunched up the bill and threw it at the waiter along with some harsh words.

best skid into the fence wins a victory burnout in Johns Z in the carpark.

and John, your stacks are just like your driving. weaksause. show us some real damage. all the cool kids have done it. at least snowbrown tried to bin his car but those pesky tyres wore themselves out and kept him on the track.

Ever hear the saying "you couldn't hit water if you fell out of a boat" ? Well thats Victorians for you, hopeless. Have a look at these sweethearts "hav'n a go!"

I mean if they were actually driving on the limit and pushing the car they would be bound to hit something when it all comes undone. Mind you, credit where credit is due. It does require a different type of skill all together to drive a car whilst wearing high heals and applying eye liner and lippy

Flashbacks to that night still have me in stitches. "Turn left Old Son...My life is on your hands Old Son...how much for the women"...only to pull a Sean Garrity and walk off up the street smashed after the lift home :D

      Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.

      Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)

      Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.

      Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
