Got some of the R33 stripped on the weekend. just have to take the rear seats out, and the carpets now.

We have the same brakes and air compressors :P

And it looks like my rotors are on the wrong way, thanks for posting that pic up!

the slots don't matter, it's the direction of the vanes that's important. in the pic posted you can just see the curve/angle of the vanes is correct. phunky, yours may have the slots cut the other way in relation to the vanes. (ie with the rotors mounted correctly vane wise your slots may face the other way).

Good to see that everyone has been working hard on thier machines, as have I. I've been working on seting up a set of GTR throttle bodies and plenum on to an RB25. Not a job for the feint hearted. Finaly got a decent tune in to it today. No real power increase but emensly different fuel mapping was need everywhere and took the best part of the day. In the end the power comes on a little earlier in the rev range, has a flatter curve and moved peak power up by nearly 1000rpm in the rev range. Might be easier to power out of corners? will track test and refine tomorrow at morganpark.

Will post up some pics later. Off to do a wheel alignment for gatton street sprints and testing.

Mine are from a GT-R, and are the same brand of rotor, so I think they're on backwards... I knew I'd get it wrong :pirate:

hehe, thats the second time your rotors have been put on the wrong way dane... i did it the first time they went on the gtr, didn't notice until it i'd put everything away and taken the car off the hoist!

This is my baby hopping to have it finished by super lap 2010 but it costs so such.

It has an RB30/26 Motec M800 Alcon's ext and it is all done by Ben at Race Pace Motorsports.

mumma mia! that's a spicy meatball you have there.

any more details? turbo(s)? suspension? it looks very serious, and very nicely done so far. no doubt it will be a weapon as ben certainly knows how to make a quick track GTR. :)

when it's finished I'd be happy to test crash... i mean test drive it for you... :P

Thanks for the thumbs up guys :ermm: .

The Turbo is one of Ben's custom T04Z's on a Race Pace manifold with an HKS 60mm gate.

The suspension will be a set of Bens custom tein's and all links will be Ikeya Formula

I have made an addapter manifold to mount a set of GTR throttle bodies and plenum for my RB25. It has worked quite well but not improved the area of the fine throttle response I was looking for. It has improved and moved the power up higher in revs though.

I'm going back to the old setup.

interesting, i went the rb26 plenum setup on my 25 and i gave alot of response.

Before the setup had full boost (16psi) at 3300rpm

after

Full boost (18psi) at 3000rpm

I'm using the blitz kit

    • I thought it could be an issue because the standard plate was flexing when stressed. Maybe the original gear set will hold a bit better without flex? Last time on the dyno it made around 670nm at the hubs. Now it have bigger turbo and better intake but have not been on a dyno yet. The car is being used from family trips to drag race events. So the shifts can be a little violent. It is grinding if I shift to fast so was thinking I should overhaul it soon.
    • From the factory on RB26s there's a fitting on the intake manifold collector/"plenum" that provides pre-throttle boost signal. That's how they did it back in the day, I figure it's fine to replicate it.
    • I would be surprised if that wasn't the issue. It's probably telling you, that even if you remove the plastic liner, you may have some other clearance issues that may occur too in some scenarios. IE, tyre to guard. It looks like someone has already rolled the lip, but you may still have issues in the future IE, turning and hitting a bump etc. The fact it changes how bad it makes the noise when you are going backward vs forward is highly indicative that it's the tyre rubbing. They do make a terrible sound, even if you're only pushing a project car that has a liner hanging down on a tyre!   Has the car been lowered? If it has been, what is the measurement from the centre of the wheel hub to the lip of the guard straight up?
