I'd vote for any politician with the balls to make the law that "grand theft auto" be a capital punishment offence. Hell, let the owner of the stolen vehicle at them with a pair of plyers.

Really sorry to see your thred end this way.

I read this yesterday, but it was not until I say the photos of the car burnt out did it hit me.

I fell so bad for you, and I hope these people get whats coming to them in one way or another (karma).

Did they steel the wheels from it too?

Or was the original photo an old one?

I assume it was just a joyride and then they ditched the car and burnt it out to hide any fingerprints and the like?

I wish the theives had put their foot down round a corner and hit a pole of something and get trapped in it for the police to come get them.

Upside is insurance will get you a new car, no major loss and you always have your health.

nar that was a recent pic. wheels are gone the people that stole it put some other wheels on it. id assume they took the system that was put in it too it just sucks that the excess for the insurance is $2200 :)

im soo sorry.. its like hearing your kid is dead after looking for days with hope :P.. i really hope they get these kids, just wasting a good car that they do not respect and wrecking it for a joy ride?.. comon. they dont understand at all do they.. what a waste!.. oi, if i see any kids doing anything to cars now, even writing in the mist or in the dirt wash me, i think im going to tackel them.. no more hey..

That's so awful :D

From what I hear there has been a stack of Skylines stolen in the GC area recently, might be the work of the same mob? Either way at least now that your car has been recovered it should make the insurance claim a bit easier. Best of luck!

Very sorry to hear your loss, it looked like a nice car, i hope you didnt lose too much personal items in the fire.

On the bright side, paying 2200 for your excess beats having no car and/or paying 20g for a new one.

I hope you get what you want from the insurance, good luck.

f*cken hell! this is a terrible conclusion to the story!

why f*cken do that to such a lovely car!?!? what do people get out of ruining something like that!?? personally i would probably find some childish fun in buying a $200 p.o.s, smashing it around a paddock and blowing it up, but a perfectly good, sexy, performance car!?!? it makes no sense, i couldn't bring myself to do it, even if i absolutely hated the person!?!!

people are f*cken scum!!!!! and whether it be because it happens so often or just cos cops on the gold coast are also f*cken scum (i don't care if it's a majority or minority, they have a responsibility to ALWAYS serve the public and too often they just don't!), the chances of any justice being served to whoever did it are infuriatingly low.

i apologise for making jokes earlier in this thread, i stupidly didn't even consider that things would turn out this way.

I dont think the cops have done anything i havn't heard 1 word from them its f***ing rediculas when u see your own car drive off infront of you and the cops dont show up for an hour and a half later then nothing is done. POOR EFFORT.

Thanks for the support guys i really appreciate it.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
