I was there too sitting pretty much next to where they were filming. We thought it was great they were out there filming legal drags, burnouts etc..

Of course they had to turn it into something completely against it...

I drove past all of those cars pulled over and they were less than a kilometre from WSID.. You couldnt even race on those streets as they are only one lane and quite busy once the drags are over. Couldnt really see them doing burnouts around there either but you never know I suppose..

hang on...

so they were at wsid - filming legal stuff, and have turned it around and made it into a bad hoon story again?

wtf?

I wish I could see the vid.

farkin gay media crap shit farkin

Nope they were saying WSID = good. But cars speeding while exiting the facility = bad.

Video was made by benm... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=3265470

im famous!!!!! you can see me getting beaten and see me and my m3 in line a few secs after.

where do i go to get paid?

thanks turdy.

yep thats me and my m3 in that pic above, and in the vid earlier you can see me getting beaten by the green VL.

i catch up and beat him though

ok maybe not. but i was close.

ok i lied again.

i guess those fools who was speeding right after the event is just asking for it.

I couldnt help but laugh at how sly the cops hiding with speed gun & alerting other hwy patrol to whom to pull over.

Yes its well homo, but come on, who seriously WOULDNT expect there to be cops waiting outside a racetrack.

Next week everyone should take a few donuts in their cars;

Cop: Do you know why i pulled you over son?

You: I was enjoying driving - it makes me happy. Here, have a donut, that should make YOU happy

/sarcasm

Its ridiculous.. I cant believe people would even attempt to race/speed etc outside the track. they should of paid their $45 and done it legally earlier.

I still cease to believe they pulled 70 cars over for speeding/burnouts etc...

I was pissed off because I thought the footage they were filming was going to be used as a positive in the community for people actually going and doing it legally..

Instead they showed it as a reason for all the hoons to gather in one place and then go stupid after its finished..

I am really pissed at police senior management for this.

There is no better way to push cars back INTO street racing than making the only legal venue, WSID, unsafe (ie don't go, you might get defected afterwards).

Idiots.

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
