Anyone know the price of one of those popular Toyo tyres are? and where to get them? I swear i' saw a thread of some one advertising new tyres for $99 a pop. Can anyone find that thread?

Which ones? The T1R's or the semi slick R888's?

Check the group buy thread for the semi-slicks.

Hey buddy, Im from Taleb tyres and we've done a fair bit with members from SAU that can tell you we're the cheapest in sydney, what sizes are you after?

Al

Ahhh, sweet.

I'll ring you guys next time (never heard of you until now)

But anyway, last i used was Blair's at Peakhurst.

They were cheaper by about $100 per tyre on my TOYOs

I think i paid $290 for 255's/17s for the Trampios or whatever they're called.

Worst quote was about $500 a fregan tyre !!!! Pffft.

But on other tyres for my girlies car, found the local could match whatever i could find and Blairs weren't the cheapest.

Your phone is your friend :)

Ive used payless tyres in Chatswood as its very easy location wise.

I got some SP9000's dunlops for 180 each

Got the R888 semis from St Georgie tyres for around 190?

size was for 16 inch rim 225 wide

Hey Nick

Sorry nothing in a 255/30/20.

in regards to the inquiry, I dont really have anything dirt cheap, i dont deal much with Nankang in these performance sizes as too many customers have had problems with them, but i will tell you what i do have:

255/35/20 nitto NT555 for $275

275/30/20 Toyo T1S for $400 (if you're only after 2 then i can get you some B/S cheaper)

225/30/20, If youre after cheap i have the General, better than Nankang for $210.(NITTO also available)

Bought a set of rear tyres for the supra at Canterbury Rd Tyre Service, just walked in and got 225/50/16's for $50 each fitted and balanced. Bargain!

Tyres were dunlops or yokohamas, cant remember - but who cares for $50

At that price i dont really care how fast it goes through tyres

I can vouche for that!

Many thanks for my wheels and tyres by the way, those toyos have made such a difference.

Matt.

are the nittos a drag tyre?

The Nitto NT-555R Extreme is the drag radial version.

The most common drag radial sizes would be 255/50/16 and 275/40/17.

I normally use Black Tyres in Yennora, but a friend has just bought Jala Tyres at 21/ 116 McCredie Rd Guildford West 2161 (02) 9721 1500

Ask for Dori.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
