we didnt attend due to our dyno time being held up by GReddy international didnt get the car loaded until 7.30 and due to the fact the M4 was packed and WSID was full we decided that going out there to wait in line all night for 1 pass was not worth it.

ahh well...the car is ready to run.

hi russ

those numbers were betttered last night with an easy 487AWKW @ 25psi 11.5:1 AFR

my best so far is a 10.36 @ 134 not too bad for a beginner, just when i started to get the hang of it the car broke (first the 2530 turbo's then on the first outing with the new GT-RS's the oil pump) which puts us where we are today. I see your time, you must run altered final drive or use a dog box as your MPH seems a little high for 400awkw (with a full weight car), or the fact you can shift the car better/quicker might be the case.

Arthur Eyre in NZ has ran 10.17 on 2540's but with slicks and NOS which i am told is the No.1 time for a "bolt on" turbo GTR (low mounts).

You guys are bloody legends who can obviously drive the pants off the GTR...to be put in the same league as you guys is an honour.

But...ill smash your ET and MPH...hehe

Richard, GReddy International (USA) and Japan ran a conference in the city on Tuesday...on Wednesday they came to CRD to use the dyno and demonstrate a couple of their products namely the Emanage ECU and the Vmanage V-Tec controller for the Honda. They tied up Jim's dyno all day (bastards!), but were treated to a couple of "twoogle" runs after they were finished.

here's a video of two of the dyno runs

bloody awsome paul!!

487 on low mounts, i love it, would have awsome power right throught the range!

and yeah we have a ppg dog box, mindyou mark is super slick on the change, my best is 10.8. hehe!!

you new setup should smash into the nine's if you get a good shot.

cheers russ hope to seeya round

Thanks Russ,

487 and still more to come, plenty left in the tune and the cam timing hasn't even been looked at yet. Jim thought that was a nice safe level to run it down the track a few times so i could get a little used to it.

I knew there had to be something special about your combo (Mark + dogbox = 137MPH)

Stacey shares the car with me so it has to be a synchro type gearbox (she believes she can't drive a dog engagement gearbox), so this is holding us back a little.

Should be good for 9's with everything coming together in the run.

thats very good!! it apears youi dont need a cdi hehehe. cant wait to see it run down the track!!! haha yeah you didnt miss much at wsid. well exept some textbook "how not to drag a gtr" driving. where a dude got tank slappers and kept into it and wrote it off into the opposite wall!

Big numbers and very tidy looking car...but i couldnt hear the gate????

We will be setting the world on fire tomm. night at WSID with the assistance of my expertly equipped and huge-weaponed pit crew.

It will all go well with PB's run, tyres fried and bitches flocking to us.

Fixed for accuracy

Why do the revs sound like they're climbing stairs?

This effect on older, low resolution ECU's was due to bad Cell <> Cell interpolation. I would think (guess) in this case, its an effect of the retarder unit on the dyno. :P

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
