correct...a supplier who already has run this set-up for years is helping us out with sourcing the parts and getting it correctly set-up.

box was pulled out this afternoon and will be stripped and inspected tomm.

found one... Bosch GSS-2...around $800 delivered

Hey Paul,

If you're looking for alternatives, could a knob-button to initiate the cut and timers or sensors to lift it do the job?

A bike-racer friend of mine uses the kill button briefly... another one made a 100ms kill switch actuated by the gear lever.

Cheers,

Saliya

right...australia is pulling out all stops to have the car running this weekend...cars back in brisbane, gearbox is still on the gold coast, shifter is being modified and the associated control unit set-up in sydney and parts are being machined in adelaide and or sydney depending on which set-up we choose to use for the gearbox. Im sure Dave Barrow and Smiley in WA have something to offer to make it a truely australia wide effort. (they would probably laugh and say "just put a bloody auto behind it")

big thanks to all the guys who have offered their assistance at a moments notice to have the car ready...much appreciated and many thanks.

the world H-pattern record is 8.95...im not for a moment suggesting its going to fall but it gives us a goal to aim for.

a PB and getting the car to run reliably within a tenth each pass like it used to would make me very happy as there is no point being fast if you can't back it up each run

ok...dogbox is fixed...it had a few minor issues that have been sorted and should now be reliable. Shifter had to be custom made and is being freighted up from Sydney and should be here at 10am tomm. morning.

If it wasn't for the kind assistance of Dazmo (Darren) and Deano45 (Nathan) i would be a spectator on Saturday...thanks heaps guys.

I want to see pictures of this new sexy shifter!!

Paul got sucked into the carbon fibre injector hat of a 5.9sec Top Alcohol Dragster @ about 500ft and is currently posting from beyond the grave. His responses, therefore, are somewhat delayed.

this was actually a highlight...and the fact the car now has a properly set-up gearbox and shifter. Its so good to shift it may as well be an automatic...its very slick.

qualified and made the field...which was good considering i was racing cars up to 4+ seconds quicker than me. Got drawn against a 5.9 sec top alcohol dragster in 1st round...suffice to say i had a quick chat to the driver and told HER there would be no funny business from me at the tree and id allow her through to the next round. The thought of it getting out of shape as she was coming past me and dumping a 500 cube hemi through my rear windscreen at 200 MPH 1/2 track was enough to be sensible, follow her into stage and leave after she did.

my anti-lag is not working as the boost control set-up changes we recently made are allowing pressure to escape out the wastegate as im anti-lagging before launch. Its something that was unfortunately overlooked when setting it up...1.8-2.0 60' times are only allowing 10.2's...instead of 1.3's that the car normally does and running something like 9.2's or better.

be back on track very soon...possibly this wednesday night which will be better air and the track should still be there from the weekend.

this is a great analogy paul - u should consider changing careers & becoming a journalist

Good work Paul, what class are you running in over there? seems odd to run 9 second cars against the big drag cars, they definately dont do that here, theres a class here for all the injected drag cars and they are running around the 7 second region and compete with altered's and small rails with small blocks. The handicap would of been huge, you would of been at 3/4 track before she even left the line lol :D

so does this mean the ppg "should" be pretty bulletproof now, or still possible issues with it? Are these shifters available for anyone or whats the go in getting one? I assume it can also be used on a circuit as well or only for drags?

Send me a PM regarding info if you can mate.

thanks

    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
    • and it ends up being already priced in as though you're just on 91RON without any ethanol. Car will lose a bit of economy as the short and long term fuel trims bring down the AFR back to stoich or whatever it is for cruise/idle for the engine.
    • Oh, you are right. But, in Australia E10 is based on 91RON fuel and ends up being 94RON. Hence it being the cheaper option for economy cars. The more performance oriented cars go for the 98RON fuel that has no ethanol mixed in. The only step up we have left then at some petrol stations is E85.
