was the number plate 5432? Ive had an 08 black galardo spider on test drive lately, found out the car had some unwanted history behind it so i took it back.

No this car is a UK import...

What 08 Lambo do u have??

i love this thread because it reminds me how lucky i am everyday :D:):)

i work at Rick Damelian's Prestige and get to see and drive these kinds of vehicle's every day.

we are a customer of Ateco who are the sole supplier of Ferrari's in sydney. heading into there vehicle storehouse is like walking into a porn set the feeling is quite overwhelming . wall to wall prancing horses and even a maserati or two. our most recent ferrari is a california convertable, and i will be going to pick up a 599gtb in the coming week's.

I worked at Ricky D's aswell. Its mad seeing all the cars but you will soon get over the place and never regret that you left

the black 599gtb with the yellow callipres? If so Ive got it still, courtesy car

(strokeing my ego) as I wait for my 458 to come in (end of next year).

And when are you guys going to sell that db7 and the silver 360 spider, they have been there since before i bought my first 360 (9 months now)... the price and milage of these cars keep going up but they can not sell them.

lol yeah them things are impossible to sell, the VT Diablo has been with us for some time aswell, who ever sells any1 of them 3 cars gets to drive a 458 at eastern creek as our reward for streeting them ,

They arn't impossible to sell, they have just put the price up, the silver 360 was $176 or $175k in january, now it's $192k with 2000 extra km's on it. Doesn't logic say if it didn't sell @ $176 then why put the price up to $192k? The car is only worth $170k at most, most people don't want traditional manuals in those cars, and a Silver Ferrari doesn't sell for anywhere near red/black or yellow sell for. If that car was the exact same car in tidyer condition, red exterior with tan interior and F1 gear box, it would easily sell for $220k, ive seen red/tan,F1 similar milage UK imports get $210k only 2 weeks ago.

Also what ever happened to the black modena coupe, what was really wrong with it? I took it for a test drive in January and put deposit down, took it for a 2nd test drive and it came up with a suspension fault and a generic fault. That's when I dropped it and demanded my deposit back because the head sales man at the time (the one that got fired from Ateco recently) wouldn't let me get a pre purchase inspection done on it. The repairs were an easy $30k because a month afterwards the price of that car was advertised for $30k less.

i don't know anything about that particular car man ..... and i don't do the pricing of the vehicle's i just try to do the best deal's that will make both parties happy. i'm not one of those salesmen who try to get the most i can. i just weed out the real customer's from tyre kicker's.... like we had a Lebo guy come in with his mates and offer $90k for our 08 m3 convertible, when the ticket price is $170k lol bloody tyre kicker with big dream's and he stayed there for an hour saying the same car is for sale for $100k in melbourne , i told him go to melbourne get it bring it here and i'll give him $130k for it .... well no word back from him since.....lol

  • 2 months later...

Spotted some supercar in Tweed Heads today and I have no idea what it was... and I know my supercars. It was silver and had QLD plates but I wont post the plate details unless anyone thinks they know it.

Was as low if not lower (seriously) than a lambo and would have to have been 2m wide.... so the stance was pretty lambo-esque. Front had two circular lights either side, kind of like a Zonda but I din't get a good look at the front. Side had two big vents with sort of fins kind of like a Saleen S7 but only 1 or 2 fins. It had squarish intakes sticking up behind the side windows like a Countach but less boxy. The back over the engine like a Diablo/Countach with countach like vents behind the sticking up side vents, and vents on the engine cover like a diablo with the small rear window just like a diablo/countach.

Rear from the brake lights down was very unique though.... the lights looked like a late 90's integra brake lights. Long and skinny... the car overall looked from that era, late '90's to early 2000's as latest.

I seriously have nfi what this car was. I was driving behind it for 5 mins and got a few glimpses of the sound and it was nice, but I don't think the driver put the foot down enough but it sounded V12ish for the most part.

Anyone have any idea? lol probably not... it's a qld car and the qld section doesn't have a thread like this.

I heard a while ago Damelian is closing down his prestige/exotics section....

Also saw this again at a different exotics dealer from last time......

sorry late reply...

E-gear coupe, only mod so far is a full Tubi Exhaust (standard exhaust was too quiet), so basically you will hear it way before you see it :)

good parking job :D

I own the property... Besides why would I want people parking next to my cars... It's bad enough in my skyline with people opening their doors onto my car... Try getting dents out of a $300k gallardo...

  • 2 weeks later...

spotted twice in a week 2 x ferrari's both cruising together on both occasions (once on the m5, doing 10 under they both turned to look at the sound of my titanium exhaust =) and once in the city), 1 brand new white 458 italia and one black one that looked like a 599 wasnt sure because i was looking at the 458.

sitting on norton st last week (leichardt) in the space of half an hour saw 4 STI's, not a big deal but then a white gallardo, red 458, silver R8 and a murcie, cant remember colour, think black.

they werent cruising together, all at least a few mins apart just another night on norton i guess?

saw the 458 on m5 as well on 18 dec, damn they are nice!

oh and thanks for the pic of the 700hp gtr, will look out for that.

    • There's plenty of OEM steering arms that are bolted on. Not in the same fashion/orientation as that one, to be sure, but still. Examples of what I'm thinking of would use holes like the ones that have the downward facing studs on the GTR uprights (down the bottom end, under the driveshaft opening, near the lower balljoint) and bolt a steering arm on using only 2 bolts that would be somewhat similarly in shear as these you're complainig about. I reckon old Holdens did that, and I've never seen a broken one of those.
    • Let's be honest, most of the people designing parts like the above, aren't engineers. Sometimes they come from disciplines that gives them more qualitative feel for design than quantitive, however, plenty of them have just picked up a license to Fusion and started making things. And that's the honest part about the majority of these guys making parts like that, they don't have huge R&D teams and heaps of time or experience working out the numbers on it. Shit, most smaller teams that do have real engineers still roll with "yeah, it should be okay, and does the job, let's make them and just see"...   The smaller guys like KiwiCNC, aren't the likes of Bosch etc with proper engineering procedures, and oversights, and sign off. As such, it's why they can produce a product to market a lot quicker, but it always comes back to, question it all.   I'm still not a fan of that bolt on piece. Why not just machine it all in one go? With the right design it's possible. The only reason I can see is if they want different heights/length for the tie rod to bolt to. And if they have the cncs themselves, they can easily offer that exact feature, and just machine it all in one go.
    • The roof is wrapped
    • This is how I last did this when I had a master cylinder fail and introduce air. Bleed before first stage, go oh shit through first stage, bleed at end of first stage, go oh shit through second stage, bleed at end of second stage, go oh shit through third stage, bleed at end of third stage, go oh shit through fourth stage, bleed at lunch, go oh shit through fifth stage, bleed at end of fifth stage, go oh shit through sixth stage....you get the idea. It did come good in the end. My Topdon scan tool can bleed the HY51 and V37, but it doesn't have a consult connector and I don't have an R34 to check that on. I think finding a tool in an Australian workshop other than Nissan that can bleed an R34 will be like rocking horse poo. No way will a generic ODB tool do it.
    • Hmm. Perhaps not the same engineers. The OE Nissan engineers did not forsee a future with spacers pushing the tie rod force application further away from the steering arm and creating that torque. The failures are happening since the advent of those things, and some 30 years after they designed the uprights. So latent casting deficiencies, 30+ yrs of wear and tear, + unexpected usage could quite easily = unforeseen failure. Meanwhile, the engineers who are designing the billet CNC or fabricated uprights are also designing, for the same parts makers, the correction tie rod ends. And they are designing and building these with motorsport (or, at the very least, the meth addled antics of drifters) in mind. So I would hope (in fact, I would expect) that their design work included the offset of that steering force. Doesn't mean that it is not totally valid to ask the question of them, before committing $$.
