I've owned both an NSX and a GT-R and I can tell you the GT-R is a MUCH better sports car than the NSX was. However the NSX was a much nicer toruning car than the GT-R. The GT-R is all about performance where as the NSX was a really nice car to drive rather than a fast car to drive.

Didn't the "gentleman's agreement" mean that they simply said the cars were 206kw as opposed to tuning for hours on end and actually making them exactly 206. Just in an effort to stop the pathetic kw competition that goes on between holden and ford?

I loved the part about the Skylines. They talked so much crap it wasn't funny. One of the guys they interviewed said that the engine could handle 1000HP without blowing up.

Yeah right, if you had a spare $100K to spend on a mods and a rebuild.

My top ten are.

Porsche 998

Porsche GT3

Bugatti Veyron

Dodge Viper

Lambro Countach

Nissan GTR

Mazda RX7 series 8

Enzo Ferrari

Jaguar DB9

Mercedes SLR(sure it is called this)

So- How many of those have you driven?

GHEYEST TOPIC EVER

honestly, my car is faster than yours and better than yours will remain a bar discussion, and only that, forever, with respect to any good performance cars.

this is truly a useless discussion.

Skylines are shit and old technology - farkin cast iron block, crappy efficiency, poor emissions.

If the NSX doesn't qualify as a supercar based solely on its power, rather than its design brief and execution, then no Japanese car does as they're all making the same 280ps.

they took into account that the GTR is restricted from factory and with slight mods can make a lot more power

I made a resolution to play nice, but if you want to start up again we can have another thread that is going to end up getting deleted because of how badly I embarrass you and your inability to grasp basic concepts.

The 911 is an amazing sports car, but supercar it is not. The Carrera GT is definitely a supercar though.

ahahhhahh! :):woot: Your such a funny guy man. You make this gushing statement about the 911 and then in the same breath, quote Clarkson on how its a glorified beetle!!

Your a funny guy scathing, what can i say? Please dont go chucking your toys out of the pram just yet, mate! theres a good boy.:D

exactly, and that, a member with 5000 posts! :sorcerer:

lol! bring it on fluffball. :woot::D:)

hahahaha....dumbass.

why r u even a member of SAU?

pull your head in, i own a GTR

Skylines are exactly as i have said:

1. old technology - any high performance car today uses a alloy block

2. crap efficiency - low comp ratio, poor flowing cylinder head design, high pumping losses... i could go on

3. poor emissions - the "halo" engine RBs killed off by not meeting Euro III

ok so the next obvious question is, why do you own a GTR???:D:)

cheap and fast.

i was just making the point to "Skyline Enthusiasts" that there are much better cars than what we own.

open mindedness is not something we see here very much these days - and I've been around here for a long time...

sorry i guess i should have been more specific wen quoting u.

Skylines are shit and old technology

ther we go...

i dont care if uve been around since the dawn of time...u obviosuly dont appreciate thr GTR and its accomplishments, so sell it to someone who will appreciate it.

ur freggin talkin about a car that was made in the late 80's early 90's (r32gtr)...a car that will still give top brand new sports cars a run for their money, and u say its 'shit'....pffft.

Don't be quoting me about not appreciating. The time and cost of spent getting my car bare metal resprayed, all the mods etc are unrecoverable. you want to buy it? $70K - it's yours.

Bottom line - old technology, better cars now.

the same reason why a 1980's lamborghini countach is an awesome car, but you're not gonna see me going out to buy one anytime soon, even though its very affordable now etc. It'll give a lot of new sports cars a run for their money... it dosen't mean its anywhere near as good as them in terms of efficiency, safety and technology.

GTRs were gey in their day. These days their like that bolding grey headed bloke that insists on having apony tail...holding on too tight for yesteryears glory. :D

To think Nissan built the original GTR, then went Grp A racing with the GTSr, then created a 1470kg lump of poo to bludgeon the opposition with technology and electric ass ticking dildos. Imagine how cool the R32 GTR could have been if they had kept elements of the original GTR and the R31 GTSR closer to heart. FD RX7 shoud be higher up there if we are talkign sports cars and not performance cars :)

Hell, since we are talkign sports cars why is ourt beloved Skuylien even there? Its a sports saloon, performance car etc etc. I wouldnt call it a sports car, it doesnt even have its own chassis/floorpan

LOL...make the natives restless :woot:

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
    • Yeah, I guess its pretty easy to get to if this doesn't work. Just wait till next oil change and pull it out. I am going to have to do the oil pan gasket soon and thought I'd just replace it while I was there.  Thanks
    • All that matters is you're safe and you were able to type that post. Hopefully heaps of parts you can recover for the next shell.
