If the NSX doesn't qualify as a supercar based solely on its power, rather than its design brief and execution, then no Japanese car does as they're all making the same 280ps.

So what's your point? Yes believe it or not, Japan does not, nor ever has built a 'Super Car'.

But as we all know, Jap sports cars are/were built with so much more potential to unleash.

Japan's closest thing to a Super Car was the Nismo Z-tune without a doubt. But it's still not a Super Car, just like the 911 GT3 isn't either.

There are only a handful of cars in the world that truely qualify. Think Porsche Carrera GT, McClaren F1, Enzo, Ford GT40, Bugatti Veyron, Saleen, Pagani Zonda, Koenigsegg CCX etc etc... these are 'true' Super Cars.

Im glad you didnt include the F430 Ferrari. They are nothing more then golf buggies. My little Rb20 GTSt blew past one at Winton during the recent Dutton :domokun:

I should add the guy was a champion nad his first time ever on the track...so massive props. But, still felt good to gate an F430 around the outside of a slow 2nd gear corner in a lowly GTSt "_

DOES IT MATTER

DOES ANYTHING REALLY MATTER

What matters is people like us just exchanging our thoughts and opinions of why this and how that......

Lets face it gents.....until we can drive these machines....we can never be able to give a true opinion.

And as for my 10 top cars..I have driven 3...GTR,RX7 S8 and Dodge Viper...

BTW...I believe if you are driving a 11 or even 12 second car daily your doing pretty good..especially if your

set up for some mild track work as well.

you know mate..that is really true//...make me feel like an isignificant bug right now...

ive only driven ALL of them! :domokun::w00t: :w00t: :P:nyaanyaa:

you are right though...

Who, out of all of us, are not arm chair critics? I doubt any more than a handfull...

Hold on a minute there, can you explain why is it the 911 GT3 not a super car?

-driven by Walter Röhrl himself.

Which is directly related to this

Roy , drop the act. You give your right teste to have that horse...

Nope. My right ball will stay loyally between my legs. They do nothing for me. They sound like wet farts at idle, and not much better then a 4AGE Rola at noise. Plus they are far too pretentious. I would much rather take a 997 GT3, TT V8 Espirit, ZR1 Vette , TVR Sagaris etc etc

Your opinion, may or may not be my opinion.

So..to discuss this in full we would have all had to drive them..lol

Lock the thread..this is going nowhere fast....and I mean real fast

BTW...I need to see proof you drove all of the ten I mentioned

just saying you did means....whats that word I am looking for....ah...nothing...

aw man, youve just lost my respect... :domokun::w00t: :w00t:

the horse breeds some of the best automotive produce in existence... aside from this little spy scandal in F1 they have now...

no, mate i agree...

threads like this only breed ignorance and indifference.

Im IBTL.

i suppose you could say only those who have driven them need apply??

Hey, they may make great cars, one of my all time favs is the F40. Its jsut that some cars suit personalities etc. I aint kidding myself thinking that i would suit a Ferrari. Mk 1 Escrot Panel Van is probably more my hillbilly style :domokun:

oh dear...sum of the shit that is being said in this thread...

an f430 a 'golf buggy'?? eeermmm, yeh ok... i think 'one of the best supercars/drivers cars' is a better description for the f430.

im sure uve seen this Top Gear review...but maybe u should refresh ur memory...

Kick me all you want. Something that good looking should never be overtaken a an R32 GTSt. Also, the "Prancing Horse". Fark me, name one manly thing that prances. My queer next door neighbour used to prance around his backyeard wearing his sisters underwear, so sorry i dont lend credence to anything describe as prancing :domokun:

...and i will add. An opinion is never wrong. Its an opinion, not a statement of fact :w00t:

:):worship:

ther is no opinion needed. the f430 is classed as a supercar. period.

and i cant belive u actually think that a gtst could take an f430 in a race.....hahahahahahahahahahaha, classic.

so ur gtst overtook some guy goin slow around a corner in his f430...hahahah, oh yeh...the gtst is obviously the better performance car, hahahahahahahahaha!

the fact that u are quite clearly homophobic is another issue.

Roy! wake up dude. Without judging the catchphrase and without being skyline biased, the 430 is ferraris modern day, every situation supercar. The 355 and 360 were superb cars and the 430 is better than both of them! I remember this time in 2004 when the national ferrari meet was on in Adelaide and one driver, a dentist, was kind enough to take me out to mallala and onto the track in his 360 F1. I was stunned by the noise, grip levels, stability under accel and braking as well as the way the car sat through the corners and it re defined for me the definition of the way a car should behave.

I have friends with very high performance cars but that experience was exceptional. The horse is bred for those conditions and for you to compare your car to it is kinda an insult mate...

im not sure if youve ever been in one, ive been in a few, 360, 512 and 348 and they set your hair on end...nothing homosexual about it.

cant say the same for your cross dressing neighbour... :):worship::)

i cant agree more, my friend works a JAG, and ive been lucky enought to sit in alot of ferrari and they werent even on and i still creamed in my pants.

the f430 is awsome car, but it doesnt sound that great on idle but once its on song its f**king awsome! my friend has been lucky enough to drive the f430 and he told me its unlike anything he has driven before (he said the DB9 was nothing compare to it)

Ferrari is what dreams are made of! i swap my left and right balls for one lol!

    • I had 3 counts over the last couple of weeks once where i got stranded at a jdm paint yard booking in some work. 2nd time was moving the car into the drive way for the inspection and the 3rd was during the inspection for the co2 leak test. Fix: 1st, car off for a hour and half disconnected battery 10mins 4th try car started 2nd, 5th try started 3rd, countless time starting disconnected battery dude was under the hood listening to the starting sequence fuel pump ect.
    • This. As for your options - I suggest remote mounting the Nissan sensor further away on a length of steel tube. That tube to have a loop in it to handle vibration, etc etc. You will need to either put a tee and a bleed fitting near the sensor, or crack the fitting at the sensor to bleed it full of oil when you first set it up, otherwise you won't get the line filled. But this is a small problem. Just needs enough access to get it done.
    • The time is always correct. Only the date is wrong. It currently thinks it is January 19. Tomorrow it will say it is January 20. The date and time are ( should be ! ) retrieved from the GPS navigation system.
    • Buy yourself a set of easy outs. See if they will get a good bite in and unthread it.   Very very lucky the whole sender didn't let go while on the track and cost you a motor!
    • Well GTSBoy, prepare yourself further. I did a track day with 1/2 a day prep on Friday, inpromptu. The good news is that I got home, and didn't drive the car into a wall. Everything seemed mostly okay. The car was even a little faster than it was last time. I also got to get some good datalog data too. I also noticed a tiny bit of knock which was (luckily?) recorded. All I know is the knock sensors got recalibrated.... and are notorious for false knock. So I don't know if they are too sensitive, not sensitive enough... or some other third option. But I reduced timing anyway. It wasn't every pull through the session either. Think along the lines of -1 degree of timing for say, three instances while at the top of 4th in a 20 minute all-hot-lap session. Unfortunately at the end of session 2... I noticed a little oil. I borrowed some jack stands and a jack and took a look under there, but as is often the case, messing around with it kinda half cleaned it up, it was not conclusive where it was coming from. I decided to give it another go and see how it was. The amount of oil was maybe one/two small drops. I did another 20 minute session and car went well, and I was just starting to get into it and not be terrified of driving on track. I pulled over and checked in the pits and saw this: This is where I called it, packed up and went home as I live ~20 min from the track with a VERY VERY CLOSE EYE on Oil Pressure on the way home. The volume wasn't much but you never know. I checked it today when I had my own space/tools/time to find out what was going on, wanted to clean it up, run the car and see if any of the fittings from around the oil filter were causing it. I have like.. 5 fittings there, so I suspected one was (hopefully?) the culprit. It became immediately apparent as soon as I looked around more closely. 795d266d-a034-4b8c-89c9-d83860f5d00a.mp4       This is the R34 GTT oil sender connected via an adapter to an oil cooler block I have installed which runs AN lines to my cooler (and back). There's also an oil temp sensor on top.  Just after that video, I attempted to unthread the sensor to see if it's loose/worn and it disintegrated in my hand. So yes. I am glad I noticed that oil because it would appear that complete and utter catastrophic engine failure was about 1 second of engine runtime away. I did try to drill the fitting out, and only succeeded in drilling the middle hole much larger and now there's a... smooth hole in there with what looks like a damn sleeve still incredibly tight in there. Not really sure how to proceed from here. My options: 1) Find someone who can remove the stuck fitting, and use a steel adapter so it won't fatigue? (Female BSPT for the R34 sender to 1/8NPT male - HARD to find). IF it isn't possible to remove - Buy a new block ($320) and have someone tap a new 1/8NPT in the top of it ($????) and hope the steel adapter works better. 2) Buy a new block and give up on the OEM pressure sender for the dash entirely, and use the supplied 1/8 NPT for the oil temp sender. Having the oil pressure read 0 in the dash with the warning lamp will give me a lot of anxiety driving around. I do have the actual GM sensor/sender working, but it needs OBD2 as a gauge. If I'm datalogging I don't actually have a readout of what the gauge is currently displaying. 3) Other? Find a new location for the OEM sender? Though I don't know of anywhere that will work. I also don't know if a steel adapter is actually functionally smart here. It's clearly leveraged itself through vibration of the motor and snapped in half. This doesn't seem like a setup a smart person would replicate given the weight of the OEM sender. Still pretty happy being lucky for once and seeing this at the absolute last moment before bye bye motor in a big way, even if an adapter is apparently 6 weeks+ delivery and I have no way to free the current stuck/potentially destroyed threads in the current oil block.
