For those that don't read the motorsport section of the forums there is a track weekend on down at Phillip Island on October 20-21st being held by PIARC

Entry Forms and Sup Req's are here: Click Here

Saturday is free practise (non timed unless you bring your own) and free driver training is available if requested.

Sunday is a full sprints day.

There are a few guys coming from interstate for this event as well including John from Unique Autosports with his Zed.

A few people are doing both days so consequently Brisby is organising some accommodation for the weekend. If anyone is keen to come down and stay and have a beer or 2 please post up here.

Cheers

Good to hear Andrew, no doubt I will get THE CALL anyday now....

Be good to see about 10 cars doing sub 1:50's on the day...

Can't wait...

I should be there Saturday, can't be there on the Sunday, not happy.

I wonder if i can get that sub 50 before BB on the Saturday.... come-onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!

I'll be driving like an 18 yo on L plates for a while until I get used to the car. You are in with a shot, but not for long. That and the fact my tyres are nearly unroadworthy. :worship:

Ahhh I hear excuses!!!! hahah

Good news for me then :D It will take you less time to get used to it than you realise... you'll probably run a 49 in the morning... then it will take you all weekend to run a 47 :P

  • 2 weeks later...

i would love to come along, i havent been out on the island before. damn shame that my car is in the panel shop at the moment!

i might try to convince a mate to come down to watch on one of the days.

maybee one of you could take me for a ride around the track! :)

So is your car ready for this weekend BB?

I haven't heard yet, but have been too busy to ask.

I've annoyed Ben a fair bit lately asking about various changes, so one more "are we there yet" and it will probably come back in pieces, or worse making 140 KW.

Fingers crossed, accomm booked and leave pass organised.... :D

So, i need new rear rotors and fuel tank before the weekend. Tryign to find some rear brembo calipers so i can run better rear rotors...so if anyone knows of any for sale! Im hoping to make it but may be easier to just park it. Engine was knockign a little on the weekend as well...lol little wonder with the boost gauge saying 1.6bar at the top of 4th gear (Ben ha spreviously told me that the gauge reads higher then what his pressure sensor on the dyno reads, so probably more like 1.3-1.4bar:)

    • Perfect, I'll get to it this winter then at the same time as I weld on my anti squat kit.
    • Alright so my 32 only has one temperature no matter what degree you set it to. I’ve tried disconnecting the servo motor arm and moving it either direction and got no change. I’ve fixed the leak in my AC and re charged it and with it on and clutch engaged it still blows hot even though the low pressure pipe going to the firewall is ice cold. Both heater core hoses are hot while running as well. Diagnostic code showed 24 for intake air temperature sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
    • I said Garrett style. Not Garrett genuine. And something in the G30 550 range is what you want. Not those pokey little old fashioned T28 sized things. The intake ports in the head are small. There is little benefit in fattening up the runners and leaving ths actual ports small. Just run what you've got. And on the subject of Nistune vs Haltech etc..... You know you can control the transmission with decent standalone ECUs these days, right? No need to keep any of that old Nissan bullshit. Don't get me wrong - I use Nistune on my Neo. But it is a DET, so the number of bodges and workarounds I had to do to make it work in a chassis without ABS, TCS, etc, is quite small compared to the herniated arsehole you will have trying to make it work on a motor that doesn't have some of the things that the turbo ECU wants to see. Just easier to bite the bullet and go aftermarket outright.
    • Hmm. Only when the f**king thing is actually working. Still can't find the leak. And that's with dye being put in the last 3 times!
